Can we all please just take a deep breath now? Merrick (Dick) Tracy is on the case! The Washington Post is reporting that in recent days, the DOJ has opened an active criminal investigationĀ involving Donald Trump’s actions leading up to, through, and after the January 6th Capitol riot.
This comes on the heels of the revelation yesterday that the top two Mike Pence senior officials had appeared before the DC grand jury on Friday. They are also interviewing and dragging other former Trump officials into the grand jury, questioning them for hours, and asking for email, text, and phone records for the time in question.
This follows on the heels of search warrants executed on former Trump lawyer and co-conspirator and former Trump DOJ flunky Jeffrey Clark. And the DOJ dropped the hammer on the two top Arizona GOP officials, requesting records, texts, e-mails, and phone records regarding the foiled fake elector scheme.
This is a wide ranging probe, which is important for two reasons. First, we already knew that the DOJ was investigating the fake elector scheme in both Michigan as well as Georgia, collecting information, and issuing subpoenas. And now we know that they’re actively investigating both Arizona as well as Pennsylvania on the same counts.
On the one hand, this is developing as a classic DOJ investigation, roll up the little fish, flip them, and move on up the ladder to the next rung. This is how almost every successful Mob prosecution has been handled. Which shows you that the DOJ is considering the Trump cabal as a Crime Family.
But more importantly, this has clearly become a bifurcated investigation. The fact that the DOJ dragged former VP Mike Pence’s top aide and lawyer into the grand jury shows that, while they’re going after the low hanging fruit, and hoping to flip them, they’re moving aggressively against members of Trump’s inner circle.
Look at it from an investigator’s point of view. The most critical elements are the collection of data and information, and witness statements. The object is to get witnesses in front of the grand jury ASAP, get their testimony on record, so if they try to waffle later, you can impeach them with their previous statements under oath. And that’s exactly what the DOJ is doing right now. Their job.
How many times have I cautioned,Ā Patience, padawan learner.Ā This is not the Trump DOJ of KKKebler the Elf, and Tubby the Ewok. This is the Biden/Garland DOJ. When they have indictments to announce, they’ll announce them. Just the way it was done for 50 years before Trump.
My advice? Sit back and relax. The DOJ wheels of justice are turning, and with the reporting from the WaPo today, they are turning much higher up the ladder than we had originally thought. TheĀ Statute of LimitationsĀ on Trump’s crimes won’t expire until December of 2025 or January of 2026. They have all the time in the world.

Uh, I think someone else already broke this.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That said, there is some different information included in this post.
That doesnāt make it āBreakingā.
Ursula Faw promotes a repetition of content so that readers can get more than one authors point of view…
Repetition is not ābreakingā.
They have been for months, it’s just that the media only just learned about it.
And why I kept begging for patience…
Good Lord, all some readers can do is bitch about the word “breaking” in the title? Given the content of this article, that seems to be churlish and blinkered to say the least. Had the word been “exclusive”, okay, there’s an argument up for grabs. Time to get your priorities in order, folks.
It’s because the “reader” in question “broke” the story a bit earlier and is miffed that his content failed to include “Breaking” in the title.
I donāt usually employ click-bait phrases in my titles. I was miffed because someone else had.
THE 8 TRUMP ASSOCIATES WHOM DOJ IS INVESTIGATING (from months ago!):
You go Merrick! Make me eat my words! I’m not convinced justice is coming, fascism seems more likely. Yet, I hope that scent i smell is crow cooking in the oven. When trump’s wardrobe becomes a monotone color that matches his makeup, I’ll get my fork…gladly. I just might like green eggs & ham. I’d also like a side order of kasha.
