I didn’t think Donald Trump could trash a presidential medal more than he did by awarding Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, but I was wrong. He just did.
Trump was at the Talking Points USA shebang in Florida this weekend. He did his usual stand up comedy routine and the Congressional Medal Of Honor found its way into his dialogue.
It’s a military medal and the highest one awarded for “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty” And this draft dodging bum thought he should get it.

trump degrades everything he is associated with. The reason he thinks he should have the medal is he was “very brave” while he WATCHED a pilot land his plane while don don could not see the runway. The wealthy and powerful in this country do not follow the law because they know they’ll be “punished” by residing in such facilities. Newsflash D.O.J., AG’s, etc.-if you want people to follow laws perhaps the punishment ought to be a LITTLE BIT bad. Maybe if they knew they’d be dancing with bubba or bertha every night for the length of their stay they might think twice before thumbing their noses at our laws.

My teeth have been grinding ever since this story hit the news, and there was even something on this site yesterday. I kept silent but no more. (And sorry – I don’t mean to tee off on you personally because lots of people make the same error)
The correct name of our nation’s highest military decoration is the Medal of Honor. MOH. Period. It is usually, and in fact whenever possible presented by the President of the United States but for someone to be awarded the Medal of Honor it has to be approved by the Congress of the United States, who being politicians are only too happy to try and horn in on a rare honor and attach their fucking asshole rep. to it.
You will almost NEVER hear a Congress Critter or any politician correct people when the MOH is ERRONIOUSLY referred to as the “Congressional Medal of Honor. But again I make the point that if someone refers to that award, and given the sacrifices those who been awarded it have made the very least we can do is leave the fucking politics and politicians out of it as much as possible – and call it by the true, appropriate name:

Sorry for the rant. But Trump’s name being associated with that Medal in any way sets me off. And while I sometimes succeed in holding back on being nitpicky about the nomenclature I could no longer restrain myself.
