This latest episode in the Crazy Show in the House of Representatives is reaching a crescendo. Hopefully it will result in the recasting next year of some of its stars. As well you know by now, Kevin McCarthy decided to blow off the Boebart/Omar fray much in the way a school principal would decide to defer a simple disciplinary matter to a teacher or counselor. He doesn’t want anything to do with it. He’s got bigger fish to fry than provide actual leadership to the Republican conference.
Nancy Pelosi has stepped forward and here is her statement on the government website:
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark, Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries and Caucus Vice Chair Pete Aguilar issued this joint statement condemning recent Islamophobic and racist comments, as well as a fictionalized incident, from Congresswoman Lauren Boebert:
“Racism and bigotry of any form, including Islamophobia, must always be called out, confronted and condemned in any place it is found. This is particularly true in the halls of Congress, which are the very heart of our democracy.
“Congresswoman Boebert’s repeated, ongoing and targeted Islamophobic comments and actions against another Member of Congress, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, are both deeply offensive and concerning. This language and behavior are far beneath the standard of integrity, dignity and decency with which the Constitution and our constituents require that we act in the House. We call upon Congresswoman Boebert to fully retract these comments and refrain from making similar ones going forward.
“Leader McCarthy and the entire House Republican Leadership’s repeated failure to condemn inflammatory and bigoted rhetoric from members of their conference is outrageous. We call on the Republican Leadership to address this priority with the Congresswoman and to finally take real action to confront racism.”
Now unless McCarthy can go the pushmi pullyou one better, he’s going to have a really hard time confronting racism in any meaningful way when one of his other problem children, Marjorie Taylor Greene, can’t agitate and escalate the situation fast enough. Here’s her statement of position.

Marge tweeted “love everyone” on Thanksgiving night but hey, holiday sentiment is cheap and evaporates more quickly than bad liquor, right?
And of course it’s no secret that Boebert was threatening to strip Omar and others of their committee assignments once the GOP retakes the House.
Here she is tripling own on Fox News. So much for the non apology. Apparently that was done to placate McCarthy somewhat. Who knows?

It’s time to ignore these fake apologies, lies, etc. Watch what they do not the inevitable smokescreen that follows. Our national IQ/morality test is coming fast 1 year from now. Either we pay attention & vote these fascists out or we spend our time at the apple store, swallowing evey racist trope & lie on our way to the END OF OUR DEMOCRACY. People used to ask how could Christian Germany become the most evil state in modern times…now we have a front row seat on the answer.

Those people asking that question were effing morons who couldn’t see what was in front of them all along. As such, they deserved their shock. Still, keeping an eye on such developments remains useful. It’s a gauge on how effective the opposition is with chain of command, messaging and tactics. In the meantime, though, we do need to figure out what each of us are going to do to make next year a good one.
One little bright spot in my town in the middle of Klan Land. A real Democrat was elected in a special election 11/3/21 to the state senate. The first time someone I voted for has won here. Of course Obama and Biden, but they did not carry the state. I am going to try and remember this election everytime I feel it is hopeless.
I certainly hope the democratic party is taking very good notes. I realize there are districts where this shit gets people elected but there are other districts whose voters are repelled by it. Certainly a lot of hay can be made in the 2022 election ads featuring these brain-dead boobs spewing sewage from their ignorant and hateful lips. If the dems are not going weaponize this garbage they probably shouldn’t be in office.
