“As Ye Sow, So Shall Ye Reap.” And The GOP Shall Reap Covid-19 In November of 2022;

Talk with your mouth full. Bite the hand that feeds you. Bite off more than you can chew. What can you do? Dare to be stupid   Weird Al Yankovic   Dare to be stupid

I couldn’t think of a more perfect lead in to this article than the ditty above. The GOP caucus, both in the House and the Senate, followed El Pendejo Presidente’s flute, like the Pied Piper, went down the rabbit hole of the Covid Hoax in order to try to prop up Trump’s economy for his reelection. And now they are about to reap the harvest.

This should already be almost over with. back in April and May, and heading into June, we had this virus by the old short-and-curlies. We were vaccinating more than a million people a day. Deaths were cratering, hospitalizations were down, and new infection rates were at all time lows for the pandemic. Things were opening up again, and people were actually starting to feel like card carrying human beings again. But not so fast.

But not so fast. The far right FUX News, OAN, NewsMax bubblesphere, along with the GOP misinformation were kicking into high gear. They bashed everybody from Fauci to the CDC, from the vaccine to medical science. And they remade it about personal freedom of choice.

And as a result, we now find ourselves in the pandemic equivalent of The Civil War. The residents of the blue states, who actually graduated high school, listened to the science, and their leaders, and got vaccinated. And now, even if they get a breakthrough Covid infection, we are almost guaranteed not to require hospitalization and die. But in the GOP states, where the Trombies barely crawled out of the Olduvai Gorge, they are facing spikes rivaling anything they saw at the height of the pandemic.

Keep this one thing in mind. We. Should. Be. On. The. Downward. Slope. Of. This. Thing. And in Democratic states, we are. While there are spikes, because of high vaccination rates the residents are at little risk. But in GOP dominated states, mostly south and southwest, The coronavirus is partying down like a rock band in a hotel room.

But here’s the problem for the GOP. Nothing drives a crisis home quite like a personal loss. Right now, in the southern and southwestern states, most Democrats are already vaxxed out, but not GOP voters. At the moment, Florida, Missouri, and Texas are the three highest states for new Covid cases. And in short order, the GOP residents of those states are going to come to grips with the loss of a family or close friend. Fer Crissakes, last week it was reported that The freakin’ Villages in Florida was getting a spike! That’s Trump’s uber base, and also the most vulnerable population for Covid that there is.

Granted, many of these GOP stated are safely gerrymandered, but they still have vulnerable swing districts, mostly in the suburban and exurban areas. Those normally GOP voting suburban soccer moms want their kids to be able to go to school without worrying about them ending up on a ventilator. And they don’t want to have to worry about their spouses coming home and getting everybody sick either.

Ron Pissantis in Florida needs to win reelection in 2022 to launch his 2024 campaign if Trump lets him. And Charlie Crist, with statewide name recognition will take him over the falls for his positions on Covid. L’il Marco Rubio is up again in 2022, and there is nobody better equipped to take him to the woodshed over his blind support for Trump than Val Demmings. In every vulnerable state and district, never underestimate the ability of The Lincoln Project, as well as other groups, to make the GOP’s lives miserable.

Sweet Jesus. This all could have been so stupidly simple! All the GOP needed to do was to tout the vaccines as the greatest accomplishment of the Trump presidency, the result of his Operation Warp Speed, and encourage every Trump supporter to be vaccinated. But since it was Biden who would do what Trump couldn’t do, distribute and administer the vaccine, they couldn’t take the chance. And now they’re in the soup. Ye sow what ye reap.

  1. The GQP went down that rabbit-hole years ago. It’s just that now they’re so far down that they can’t get out without tossing out 90% of the party.

    • What’s going to happen in 2022 to Don Trump and in no small way the GOP, and finally again for the GOP in 2024? The electorate are going to set the bar for Donald Trump that his base never did. Then again it’s totally impossible to compute why the GOP hasn’t learned that to fallow Trumps missteps means they too will misstep every time Trump does??? I guess they never heard the story of the boy who cried wolf?. Did you know that Joseph Stalin leader of communist Russia, lay on the floor of his office for almost 24 hours having a major heart attack, unattended, because his aides were too afraid of him and his terrible temper to want to be the one to disturb him. What a ghastly end, laying and dying in your own pee and poo and blood and pain? Truly he may have justly deserved such a sorrowful demise, but still?Marvelous how Karma bites you in the end ain’t it?

  2. My man Hoarse Whisperer on Twitter is giving it two weeks before they try handing credit for the vax back to Trump. The problem for these fools I’m surrounded by (and refuse to mingle with until further notice; yes, I’m fully vaxxed but they’re using their bodies as the equivalent of meth cookers for COVID right now) is that changing course now won’t undo the damage already done, especially the deaths.

    • Loved “I’m fully vaxxed but they’re using their bodies as the equivalent of meth cookers for COVID right now.” So true! We should put all the unvaccinated (except those who have a REAL reason not to be) on as many cruise ships as it takes to keep them all afloat. Let them “study the science” while they transmit Covid to one another. Shouldn’t take too long…

    • I wonder if it isn’t too late for the G.Q.P. to do an about face now? They and their circus clowns on Faux and the rest have been bleating for way too long against the vaccine. I wonder if anyone will listen to the party or the party’s media when they attempt to reverse course.

  3. Grateful to be in MA instead of GA for precisely that reason. Even in. my town that went for Trump.I’m 2016,more than 50%are vaccinated. If Walmart, the main employer in this town, requires vaccination, a lot of them will.lose their jobs.I’m

  4. I wonder how long it will take for the rabid anti-vaccination nuts in the republiqanon clique to catch on to a very simple fact – the more of their people who contract Covid and die, the less votes there will be available in the future
