The appearance of “snatch and grab little green men” as Steve Schmidt put it, does not bold well for a democratic society. The irony, of course, is that Mike Pence came out a few days ago and said that “you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America.” Oh, no, we won’t be. We’re much safer with a self-serving thug in office who pardons his criminal accomplices and co-conspirators. In all events, the Lincoln Project is right: this is how it starts.

  1. As we have never had any over-site of the many, many kinds of cops in this country, I think it is just that people are taking pictures of this sort of thing now. When Trump runs that bogus ad about defunding the cops, it should be followed by one that points out the million rape kits sitting unprocessed or all the murders unsolved, etc. We have had a police state for a long, long time.

  2. What if the “violent anarchists” that are allegedly threatening Portland are really paid actors, hired to justify the attacks on them by unknown police forces? Ken Cuccinelli has already said that these goons will be sent to other cities. The whole point is to paint predominantly Democratic cities as “out of control.” A thorough investigation is needed.

  3. I am not sure who that ad is speaking to. We over here are already voting for Biden. Over there at the Federalist, they see this ad as hyperbolic leftist fear-mongering.

      • My point is NOT that the Federalist is a reliable source of anything. My point and my question is who is the audience for this ad if not their loyal readers?

      • My point is NOT that the Federalist is a reliable source of anything. My point and my question is who is the audience for this ad if not their loyal readers? It is too easy for them to dismiss it as hyperbolic fear-mongering and besides the libs have it coming. The ad needs to show how these actions put THEM directly at risk. They seem to woefully poor at transfer learning, an old education concept that has been appropriated by AI researchers.

  4. PLEASE note attorney Seth Abramson backed up by Lawrence Tribe .. addressed the Barr Barnes Black Ops excuses ..every one. IN this Thread https://tinyurl.com/yyhwqqgq
TWEET ONE: (THREAD) “Blacks ops” means “covert military operations that may employ measures not generally authorized.” In Portland right now is an interagency federal paramilitary force comprising 16 agencies; the force is acting covertly—without any nameplates—outside the scope of the law.

  5. No one has mentioned the business owners, both black and white, men and women that were assaulted and murdered during these “peaceful protests”. I watched a white business owner beaten to death in the street in Austin, TX. I watched a black business women assaulted in front of her business. I watched a mob chasing a man yelling we’re going to kill you, until he turned and shot one of them, then these anti police people wanted to call the police. I saw another store clerk near to where I am beaten and robbed in the parking lot by a mob. There probably are many other incidents of this kind that I haven’t seen as this information has been suppressed. These events were allowed to happen by the local and state governments. I am not a Trump or Biden support, I am a supporter of I want to live.

    • So you apparently think if information that would support your preconceived view is lacking, it must be because the information is being suppressed. That is ridiculous. Local and state government are not “allowing” crimes to happen. The vast majority of protesters are not against police. They are against police overreach. It makes no sense that Trump’s response to protests against excessive force by law enforcement is more excessive force by law enforcement. Look at Portland. Sending in the Trump thugs only multiplied the number of protesters coming out every day, the vast majority of whom are entirely peaceful.

Check out the Wall of Moms. A large group of mostly middle-aged women locked arms in a line around an intersection where protesters were peacefully gathered, forming a peaceful barrier between the protesters and the official thugs and facing the thugs. Trump’s thugs tear-gassed them anyway.

The four incidents you list are crimes and the perpetrators need to be prosecuted. Those few incidents do not change the fact that the vast majority of protesters have been peaceful. There are far more assaults being committed by Trump’s thugs on Americans exercising their Constitutional rights. For some odd reason, Trump the proto-authoritarian is pleased with the TV images, and is planning for more of the same in more cities.

Your judgement is specious because the main determinant is partisan politics. If these same occurrences were happening in a Democratic administration, you would be furious.

    • I’d like you to link news stories to support what you say. The Austin event I think you are speaking of the man didn’t die, I don’t support the beating he got but he did come at the protesters with some type of bladed weapon like a sword or machete. Since you got this wrong I’ll assume the same for the other examples you tossed out. Feel free to prove your not spouting BS, link info to support your claims.
