Donald Trump is the only U.S. president in history to spend more time off the job than on. Other presidents are in the Oval Office by nine and they put in a day’s work. Not Donald. No, he does Executive Time more than anything else, which is now a euphemism for watching cable TV and tweeting. And of course if his worshippers on Fox News fail to be sufficiently fawning on any given day, that is a massive insult and one not to endured. Today was such a day.

And that was the warm up. Then, of course, Fox News reported on polls because every outlet is and between now and election day that’s the way it’s going to be. And Trump rage tweeted again.

Maybe we should start chanting “four more months” because if we can handle that, we can socially distance ourselves from Trump four-ever.
“Four more months”? Oh, you bad, Ursula. But really, is there anybody left in Trump’s corner that carries the kind of weight to make us worried? All we gotta do is just keep getting ready for November and we’ll stomp him.
William Barr has a surprise planned for October. He was going to have indictments handed down of Peter Stzrock and Lisa Page about the FBI investigation into Trump’s campaign. That was supposed to be a big election winner. Now Barr’s credibility is in tatters and he’ll be lucky if he’s not impeached. So if the Big Bad Barr goes away, we might be okay. I can’t think of anybody more dangerous than him in Trump world and it looks like he’s screwed himself.
If people know about it this far ahead of time, it’s time to stop calling it a surprise. And I see a raft of legal ugly heading for Barr that’ll make him WISH he was just being impeached. John Mitchell comes to mind.
Ursala, don’t forget Moscow Mitch. The difference between McConnell and Barr is that Barr likes to lie in person on camera. Mitch keeps his lies more secret.
The only truth in that is that the bible *wasn’t* upside down. (The ribbon bookmark is the tell, on that.)
I wondered about that. The only picture I could find to blow up showed the Bible right side up.
There were people saying that, presumably because they thought it would have the title on the front. (Some do. Many don’t – especially the hardcover ones.)

Maybe it’s me but I don’t remember anyone saying/writing the Bible he was holding was upside down but rather that he was just holding it like one would with a prop. (Most folks hold their Bibles with a little more reverence or respect. Even when fire-and-brimstone preachers hold their Bibles aloft, it’s usually done with passion and directed towards the heavens, rather than the “See, I’m holding up a Bible” manner that Trump was using; the way he was doing it was almost like you’d see from a teacher holding up something before asking or telling the class what it is.)
Maybe the “upside down” thing has come along in more recent days, but I don’t remember anyone making any comments about that specific issue at the time. (Gods, he was making so many other mistakes with it that I wouldn’t have even noticed an “upside down” problem. Using a “Revised Standard Version” in the first place wouldn’t really endear him to his evangelical base and his other display–holding it with both hands to display the spine showing its being a Bible–was pretty pathetic as well.)
