Tonight is a turning point in American politics and the end of an era. We have seen the last of Susan Collins, who conceded to Troy Jackson shortly before midnight after Jackson beat Collins in her sixth term run.
And Donald Trump has not been silent. He claims that now he’s going to be a political pundit and tell people what they did wrong. He’s starting out with Greg Abbott, whom he says has become a RINO, and that’s why he lost.
Trump is not keeping up with the times. He got an historic message tonight, one that none of his predecessors would have ignored, yet Trump’s response is what you would expect, he goes on offense.
Trump is constitutionally incapable of realizing that as a president who narrowly won that he needs to cooperate with the opposition. Don’t look for him to absorb that piece of information anytime in the near future. The rest of the political sphere is rocking and reeling from today’s election results but Trump says on the one hand he’ll work with Democrats and then in the next heartbeat he posts the VETO hat.
It’s going to be a wild two years. This is a political reset of historic proportions.
