Friends, this is a momentous occasion. People are using words like “seismic” to describe the perceived shift in values. Why do I say “perceived?” Because the one statistic that has gotten lost due to all of Donald Trump’s gaslighting is that he only won by 1.5% of the vote. We’re used to him going on about “landslides” and all that nonsense but the fact of the matter is that there was never a landslide, there was a plurality and a narrow one at that.
NBC News predicted in the last half hour, after Senator Roger Marshall went down in flames and the Senate seats picked up went to five, that the Democrats were now in charge of both chambers of Congress.
It was going to be an interesting time with just the House in Democratic hands, with the House and the Senate, NBC says things will be “raucus.”
Goodbye Donald. You’re going to know the meaning of gridlock and obstruction such as you have never known before.
The next two years are going to be amazing ones in American history.
Tonight was the most important election of our lives. If the corruption and the apathy had taken over, we would be bidding farewell to democracy. As it stands now, we are looking at one hell of a fight coming up in January.
And so join me with this little ditty from the old surfing music days.
What an amazing election. I haven’t felt this good in a long time!
When I saw the headline and title picture I was hoping you’d include the song Wipeout.
Another way to put it is that Trump got bulldozed. That made me think of a delightful Heywood Banks song where he sings about how if he had a bulldozer life would be so fine. Well, voters across the country, even in red states and red places in blue states are in the path of destruction. In other words, voters have realized THEY can be Banks’ bulldozer:
Obama for Speaker of the House??
Is this Trump’s third messy divorce, perhaps?
There you are Dimwit Donny.
THAT’s what a landslide looks like.
