Trump and 9/11 are like oil and water – the two don’t mix. Still, from the time it happened Trump has tried to claim some 9/11 glory. Multiple claims that turned out to be if not supported by any documentation, facts or witnesses were outright lies. For example Trump claiming right off the bat that after the Twin Towers collapsed his beloved Trump Town was now the tallest building in Manhattan. It wasn’t of course. More b.s. claims would be made and this week it’s clear Trump has no intention of stopping his lying. How he’s promoting (and doubling down) on a wild claim two ‘big strong firefighters’ carried him out of a building as he was there trying to help them!
This isn’t the first time Trump has made up a story about ‘Big, strong guys’ showing him respect and concern. “Made up” is the part that matters in what I just said. It’s a favored tactic by Trump to show how even the toughest of tough guys are humbled in his presence and can’t help but pay him their respects. Much has been made about Trump’s mental decline and his omitting the key detail that has always been part of these grandiose bullshit claims is the tears. In a piece worth your time to read The Guardian lists six ‘bigly’ falsehoods Trump has promoted regarding 9/11. It’s the sixth one that I want to talk about here.
I wrote on Politizoom yesterday about Trump’s attempt to cover himself in some 9/11 glory/heroism by holding a ceremony at the White House ellipse on Tuesday to honor emergency workers who responded to the attacks. (It focused on him ruining the awarding of the Medal of Freedom to one of them) Trump claimed he and a group of workers went to visit lower Manhattan shortly after the attacks (as the linked article and others note no proof exists) firefighters worried that the lower Manhattan skyscraper One Liberty Plaza – (formerly known as the US Steel Building) would collapse and worried for his safety hustled him out:
“Two firemen, big strong guys – and I’m not the smallest guy in the world – they grabbed me under the arm, said: ‘Got to get out of here.’ And they literally lifted me up,” the president claimed. “This is not easy to do – I’m big. They lifted me up and they started running with me. I said: ‘Fellas, I can run myself,’ but they were amazing. But they thought it was coming down. It didn’t come down.”
I’m surprised he didn’t claim that due to his ‘expertise’ as a ‘builder’ he knew the building (that he wasn’t in despite his claims) wouldn’t collapse. But of course if somehow it did he’d be able to escaped on his own! Anyway we have another ‘Big, strong guys’ story but I instantly realized it was missing something. Hopefully I got you thinking already so I’ll ask if you’ve realized the detail Trump left out. Again, think about every prior such story about “Big, strong guys.’ Figured it out?
Trump left out the ever present part about them having “tears in their eyes.”
You just KNOW Trump meant to include the ‘fact’ that those firefighters so admired him they had tears in their eyes of him ‘manning up’ to work alongside them and sharing the danger! Well, fully formed or not it’s not the only bullshit Trump has slung when it comes to 9/11. Again I urge you to read the linked Guardian article. At the same time it’s worth noting Trump is taking a beating on social media over this newest pile of b.s. he’s spewed forth. If you’re pissed and need to laugh at Trump then check out Buzzfeed which has a fun read complete with a lengthy collection of tweets MOCKING Trump over this. The title says “Trump Will Hate This Meme” but it includes a whole bunch of them he’ll hate. Not that his ever present ‘human printer’ Natalie Harp would show them to him but Trump is back on Xitter again so hopefully he’ll stumble across this stuff. Dare we hope someone posts the Buzzfeed link on Truth Social?
Well, check it out. I guarantee you’ll smile and more than once. Some of them include things beyond grandiose 9/11 claims of Trump’s. One of them includes the wish-we-could-forget George Santos but overall the others (i.e. Trump signing the Declaration of Independence) makes one wonder if Santos isn’t an illegitimate child of Trump’s. Think about how often Trump takes credit for things he had nothing to do with and Santos sharing his DNA kind of makes sense!
Well, Friday will be the 25th anniversary of that awful day. Trump won’t make an appearance at ground zero but plans to attend the usually overlooked ceremony at the Pentagon. Given my own connection to events at the Pentagon and as a Veteran I’m offended at the thought of Trump and Petey Boy giving speeches. But at least Trump will want the ceremony over with as quickly as possible. After of course crapping all over it pointing to where he plans to erect his ‘Arch de Trump.’
You see, just as Trump is in Texas instead of having quiet, respectful gatherings related to 9/11 he doesn’t want to be in the U.S. over the weekend when all manner of news will be devoted to events on Friday. No, since he won’t be the center of attention he’s headed to Ireland for a golf tournament being held at one of his courses. We can only hope the Irish people will strive to outdo the Scots in mocking/trashing Trump while he’s there. Me? I say to Trump go. Get the f**k out of this country and don’t come back!

My impression is that he is equally despised all over the UK. I expect Ireland to give him a wonderful, unwarm welcome.
