This is definitely *not* something one would expect to see. We have a little bit of proof that people are very, Very Unhappy with Trump. We knew there was unrest in our ranks. That’s a given. But it appears there is some red feeling that way. Lots of red is also beyond unhappy to pissed. We are not alone! What took so long? Raw Story:

Two longtime Washington, DC insiders could not contain their amazement that President Donald Trump is viewed favorably in only three states in the union. As USA Today reported, “According to The Economist and YouGov, more people disapprove than approve of Trump’s job performance in 47 out of 50 states and in the District of Columbia. The three states where the majority of respondents still approve of the president are Wyoming (+14), Idaho (+9), and West Virginia (+6).”

That *is* amazing. Only 3 approve. From everything we’ve seen – what’s wrong with this picture? After all, half the country put him back in office since they couldn’t handle former President Biden or former Vice President Kamala Harris. They didn’t learn from his first term. The overused phrase is buyer’s remorse. It’s incredibly frustrating to see all this crap with Trump and our country, and not be able to do much of anything about it. Our Congresspeople may be tired of hearing from us, but every little bit counts. It all counts. Even a $5 donation helps. Anything we can do to help Democrats in Texas and Georgia *at least* counts.

We need to flip a Texas Senate seat, just to start. Talarico is doing a lot better than anyone expected, and Paxton continues to make a mess of his “campaign”. Ossoff is in the lead over his (pitiful) opponent, who only knows how to attack and says nothing about himself. Ossoff is going to stomp all over him. And our other Senator Raphael Warnock is working with the Ossoff campaign. That’s going to be another huge draw, because we all remember the year Ossoff and Warnock pulled surprise victories. What other states have strong Democrats running for office? And what states have a chance of flipping to Democratic? Anything with a Democrat opposing a Trump choice needs to be won, like, say, South Carolina.

Discussing the particulars, Jennifer Palmieri pointed out to the panel that Trump’s drop is dragging Republicans down and Democratic candidates up. “You see this really, I mean, those numbers are staggering in these Senate races, right?” she stated. Joe Scarborough piled on with, “What I don’t get is you look at those numbers in the Deep South, -31 in Georgia, -25 in North Carolina. That’s, just for a guy from the Deep South, that’s staggering to me that he’s that low, even -22 in Texas. I didn’t think I would ever see that.” The thing that I mean right now, my big question is: why is he so disengaged from the fact that there’s an election coming up?”

Trump has so much going wrong for him that he ought to be thinking about supporting Republicans even without an endorsement (which they don’t want anyhow) in the midterms more than trying to “steal” polling places with intimidation by ICE or the military. He’s already facing backlash, and the DoJ is up to 23 cases *lost* trying to force states to turn over their voter rolls. He doesn’t need that information, and states handle their own elections. 2020 specifically, and elections overall, are a pain point for Trump, right up next to getting blocked on the Kennedy Center and also blocked on the ballroom. If they manage to etch his name on the façade, the Kennedy Center is doomed, and that will be a HUGE loss. Let us not forget the Forever Iran War.

But we have some Democrats showing very strongly, and we need to support all of them, assuming they are not a “blue” version of a Republican. We need strong Democrats. We need people who might compromise, but won’t back down. And we need Trump out of office. Fat chance.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
