This guy is scum. Nasty scum. He does not belong in the House. He belongs in a jail cell. The things he has supposedly done are Trump-level, and we know that’s pretty damn bad. There’s no absolute proof, not yet, but there will be with something like this. The news has gotten out, and he looks bad, bad, bad. This is the start of the information available. There’s more already out, but it needs to have the beginning. With appreciation for Raw Story:
The GOP is quietly hoping voters will soon forget allegations that Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) poured hot water on his wife, held her at gunpoint and broke their daughter’s collarbone — and it’ll keep its hold on the House of Representatives, according to a new report. Miller’s Republican colleagues fear their House majority is at stake after his ex-wife Emily Moreno — daughter of Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno — went public with charges of abuse (which the lawmaker denies), Politico reported Saturday.
Firstly, their hold on the House is in jeopardy anyhow. Second, that’s some serious accusations. Broke his daughter’s collarbone? That says a lot more we don’t like, because breaking a collarbone is not easy no matter what your age is, speaking from experience. That’s not including the two other accusations listed for his probably soon-to-be ex-wife. All of us can empathize with having some sort of hot liquid on them, even if it was just from a splash. That’s OW OW OW OW.
“What happens when Democrats run ad after ad targeting GOP voters about Miller abusing the daughter of a pro-Trump MAGA senator?” a GOP operative reportedly said. Politico reported the surge in attention presented a serious conundrum: “Speak out against their colleague who is running in a competitive race or face accusations of hypocrisy after hammering multiple similarly scandal-plagued Democrats.” So far, Politico reported, the go-to tactic has been silence — even from those with close family ties.
As mentioned earlier, more has come out about this, which is not being included here, because a book could be written about everything. The silence has been broken. It’s going to be difficult for him to charge back up to the top in the polls. This is definitely easily used information about Miller. It’s a difficult situation for the GOP. It’s the proverbial being caught between a rock and a hard place. There is no good answer. There is a question. Is there actual proof or just accusations?
Nonpartisan handicappers have already upped Democrats’ chances to take Miller’s seat, as his Democratic opponent Brian Poindexter is calling him out loudly and repeatedly. Miller’s campaign spokesperson said in a statement that the lawmaker’s continued custody of his child should serve as proof his ex-wife’s allegations were false. “Congressman Miller will continue to vigorously defend his reputation against false and reckless allegations designed to inflame public opinion rather than reflect reality,” spokesperson Abigail Angelos said. Emily Moreno’s spokesperson Stefan Mychajliw said, “There is a demonstrable pattern of repeated violent and dangerous behavior.”
One of the easiest things to do would be to show the X-rays of his daughter’s collarbone. Was it broken or not? The other two public allegations are much harder to prove, although custody of his daughter would also be something easily proved. Here’s the difficulty. *Something* had to have happened to cause their breakup and file charges. But what is it really? Is he a controlling, erratic bastard or not?
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

After thirty plus years as a mental health professional, I always reserve judgment and ACCEPT the abused person’s story as true unless or until it is proven beyond a doubt. The child is two years old! You’re right, there have to be X-rays! And the hypocrisy of these GOP Congress critters is astonishing!
