And this is angering me because it’s specifically Georgia. He has done all these things in the state that are above and beyond! Everyone knows he was indicted for racketeering, but then the prosecutor had to hand off the case, and it was quietly closed. The FBI came into Fulton County and filled a truck with voter information and probably the mail-in ballots. He can’t let it go. He hasn’t tried to abuse any other states about the 2020 election, which he STILL refuses to admit he lost. It. Does. Not. Matter. Anymore. He’s president now. Why does he have such a mania about Georgia? Why does he have an obsession with our two very fine Senators? They’re Democrats, and Trump can’t control them. With gratitude for Raw Story:

As President Donald Trump gears up for a mysterious Thursday-night announcement to the nation, a massive new election conspiracy theory stunt has been teased ahead of time by the conservative D.C. Reporter. Specifically, said the report, “President Trump is planning to announce that Georgia’s two senatorsJon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, are illegitimate because of fraud, a well-placed source in Georgia tells us. The announcement could come as soon as tonight.”

Wut? Fraud? Get real. There isn’t enough left of MAGA to push on this. The conspiracy theorists will have a ball raising hell and saying “we told you so” …. except it doesn’t work like that. If they got elected by fraud, it was literally years ago. YEARS. Why is Trump trying to bring such nonsense back up now? Does he think it’s going to tank Jon Ossoff’s chances in the election? It won’t. Senator Ossoff and Senator Warnock have done their damndest for Georgia. Everything else may be Republican, but Ossoff started his campaign last year, and as far as is known, he’s kicking Republican butt in the fundraising. Our household was part of the many that supported him.

“This is insane. INSANE,” wrote former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL). //// “Record-breaking Ossoff and Warnock fundraising day incoming…” wrote Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL). //// “So a Civil War instead of midterm elections,” wrote Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts. //// “This is a test run for 2026,” wrote progressive talk radio host Dean Obeidallah. “If Trump steals the 2026 election, ballots will not be enough to save us. It will take much more.” //// “The same Georgia election that elected Republicans statewide is somehow only fake when it elected Ossoff and Warnock?” wrote Alex Cole of Newsitics. “Lol, ‘well-placed source.'”

It could certainly be a test run to see if Trump could manipulate Democrats. Can’t say it will work. Again, I say, it has been years. How many of the boxes of documentation did the FBI seize that might have had some of those paper ballots in them that could accidentally get “lost”? How much could be altered? He needed a certain number of votes to turn Georgia back to red, and the surprising pushback from Republicans in government said OH HELL NO. We, meaning the household, were actually proud of them, and we are not Republican oriented. At all. This thing with Trump seems to almost be a last-ditch effort to start smearing one of the states that told him no when he needed those extra votes. The Georgia government had spines. Surprising, eh? Can’t see that Ossoff is going to lose. He’s been doing very well. “The Rev” Warnock is not up for re-election until 2028, but we can almost be certain he’s working with Senator Ossoff, and he has a lot of pull with other people who might not necessarily vote for a white dude.

Meanwhile, policy consultant Adam Cochran posted a comprehensive takedown of the whole thing. “Doesn’t work like that,” he wrote. “First off, there was no fraud, but you seized the ballots and the paper backups to make sure no one could question it. Second, the Constitution has no way to nullify a swearing-in. Only peer expulsion. Third, this suddenannouncement’ is when Trump is down by two Senators and desperate to pass a bill.”

“Lastly, Trump had 64 court cases to try and litigate the election, including in Georgia,” Cochran continued. “No case turned up any evidence, including after an audit of these ballots. Trump’s own lawyers and advocates then admitted to making up the conspiracy about this country and were charged for it. Part of the court evidence included their own email records of coming up with the plot.”

If Trump thinks he can do something about our two marvelous Senators, he has another thing coming. It is not going to be at all easy to provide “evidence” of such “fraud” that will stand up to scrutiny. He’s hoping to get Ossoff on the defensive, but that’s not going to happen. The “evidence” will fall apart because Trump is rushing it. So at this whatever address tomorrow is going to flop except for hardcore MAGA, and they really aren’t much of a concern these days. Trump is going to bluster and bluff, and it will all fall apart, no matter what he thinks it will do.

See you tomorrow!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
