It seems she felt it was time to go back into the spotlight again. In this little gem, she shows she has no idea of what actually happens with something. She thinks it’s easy to overcome. She thinks it was just boo-hoo-ing poor, pitiful me, and it wasn’t. Just another person going off on something they know nothing about. This is tiring. Respect to Raw Story:
Infighting broke out between Republicans on Tuesday after a GOP lawmaker who went missing for nearly four months broke his silence and explained why he was absent. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) responded to questions from TMZ after Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-NJ) announced on the House floor that depression was the reason for his disappearance.
Every single one of us knows someone with depression or has it themselves. That’s a major disorder. No one wants it. It doesn’t do anyone any good. This is not something to be proud of. Coping with it is. Anyone who is handling depression or any similar disorder has to be proud of themselves for every single day, sometimes every single hour, they keep going. And medical information is protected by HIPAA. *No one* can say anything to anyone without the patient’s approval!
“I think it’s embarrassing, still, even more so,” Boebert said. “I mean, sure, take care of yourself, get healthy. But who gets to take four months off of work because they’re sad?” She called his absence “an absolute disrespect to his voters.” “Whatever the reasons may be, it’s embarrassing. I don’t care what party you’re a part of. It’s not OK,” she added. “I think there’s a dose of depression that comes with these pins that we’re given, and so if you can’t build up a tolerance to it, then maybe don’t be here.”
Sad? SAD? As if she has any room to talk about anything! Good grief! This is the woman who changed districts because she knew she would lose otherwise. This is the woman who eventually got her GED. She couldn’t even finish school! Then there’s the bar and her son, and the list continues. And Beetlejuice. She shows her lack of sense every time she opens her mouth. This is insulting.
Boebert was asked if she had talked to her colleagues about it. “I think everyone is more frustrated today with the reasoning,” she said. “You have members whom the president has railed on time and time again, and they’re not using being sad as an excuse to not show up and work.” “Not showing up for work is discounting the voters. It’s not right, it’s wrong. It’s literally taxation without representation,” she added.
Kean, whose House seat has been considered a critical swing seat in the upcoming midterm election, will seek re-election in the fall. “I would like to see us hold the House, but I wouldn’t elect somebody just for the sake of that,” Boebert explained. “I do believe in proper representation and people doing the job that they were elected to do, that they swore that they would do. I think people get reelected all the time who probably shouldn’t be here and are here for the wrong reasons. So I don’t know if there’s much difference.”
*snort* The only decent thing Boebert has done that comes to mind is the water project that Trump killed. That was uncalled for on his part, especially when he talks big about our farmers (who are being screwed 6 ways from Sunday). Otherwise, she wears inappropriate clothing and talks a lot with very little substance. She has no idea what she’s talking about here. When she goes to a doctor and they explain to her exactly what depression is, then *maybe* we can pay attention to what she says. Until then? NOPE. Get out of my face.
