Ok, you’re about tired of Kra$h stories, but allow me just one more. This comes from an extremely reputable source (in my opinion). We’ve all seen that Kra$h is not going to have anything happen with the Atlantic lawsuit. We’ve seen their report, and it was very interesting! But there’s a downside to this on something else. Let’s see. My gratitude to Raw Story:
Maggie Haberman of the New York Times said on Wednesday that the paper’s leadership warned reporters that there may be more investigations conducted by President Donald Trump’s FBI. Haberman’s comments came hours after the NYT reported that FBI Director Kash Patel had reviewed information the agency had about reporter Elizabeth Williamson after she published a report about the level of FBI security given to Patel’s girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, and Patel’s use of FBI jets to travel to see Wilkins.
Y’know, it seems that Patel does everything over and above what normal people do. Excessive drinking, FBI coverage of his girlfriend, and so forth. Too much of anything he does. We knew about the FBI coverage and the jet. He knows damn well he’s busted about everything regarding his girlfriend because it was certainly public. Reporters have noticed that before. Now there’s research that has been done on him, and more has been put out there. But we’re discussing his girlfriend.
“I’m sure that the FBI Director didn’t like it. I’m sure that his partner didn’t like any of the aspects of it,” Haberman told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source.” “I don’t know anyone we cover who likes what we do. There’s a big difference between that and trying to elevate something to the level of a crime.”
Yup. If they try to arrest Ms. Williamson and charge her with something, it’s going to be a tough row to hoe. A report is in no way a crime. It was researched and printed. What’s going on with the girlfriend is, again, it was right out there in public view. No one likes negative coverage, but it’s the name of the game. If someone goes to the effort of researching and writing, that’s something we need to know.
Haberman then read from a note handed down by NYT Executive Editor Joe Kahn to the outlet’s staff. “We are going to continue doing our work, and there may be more of this, and this is not going to stop us from trying to report and reporting on what’s happening,” Haberman read.
Kudos to the Times for not taking it lying down. They’re going to continue to do what they do, and nothing will stop them. Let’s hope they protect Ms. Williamson. She deserves to have them at her back. Someone had their fee-fees hurt for being caught out. Remember, he went to the Olympics and posted pictures of himself being a frat boy with the hockey team. He had no idea that it would come back to haunt him. We’ll see what he does about the girlfriend report.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
