It seems that people are pulling away from him, and it’s still surprising that MAGA is included. He’s their orange tin god, after all. But between Epstein and the Iran war, his feet have flattened into figurative flippers (and which they may actually be doing because they’re spreading to support his ridiculous weight). Now, he’s fired his AG. There’s not much left to save him at this point. With appreciation for Raw Story:
As part of a discussion on Donald Trump’s address to the nation on Wednesday night, where he once again restated his stance on waging war on Iran, MS NOW’s Jonathan Lemire and “Morning Joe” regular John Heilemann agreed that two of his closest allies backing away from him is a sign that he is in the twilight of his political career. As Heilemann, a political strategist, noted, no one in the White House could be happy about the headlines that followed the address, because it did little to convince skeptical voters that things are going well as they watch the price of fuel skyrocket.
Oh my goodness, really? He sounded like an imbecile. He warned and threatened NATO. The war is still going. And we might have boots on the ground, which pisses me off more and more every time I see those words. And I’ve ranted about that enough, so we’ll skip merrily on by and go back to the quack, quack. He should notice he’s in trouble, but again, as always, will he?
“You know, John Lemire is someone who’s pointed this out as much as almost anybody I know, Donald Trump is just not out among the people, very much the people of his party, the people of his coalition,” Heilemann told co-host Joe Scarborough. “And it feels as though he’s not maybe even listening very much to MAGA media, which has turned against Laura Ingraham on Fox News, now suggesting that Donald Trump may not have the mental capacity to understand the foreign policy advice he’s getting.”
“That is a sign of a rupture that has something to do with the fact that Trump is looking more and more like a lame duck,” he suggested. “You have JD Vance now announcing that he’s leaking to the press like crazy, that he was never for [war in] Iran,” he elaborated. “And now he’s got a memoir coming out about his Catholic faith; we are into the 2028 presidential cycle now. “
J(usta) D(umbass) doesn’t have a chance with MAGA, no matter how much he thinks he should. His wife is a big factor for MAGA, and she doesn’t follow Trump’s ideals. She’s not white. That’s a horrible thing to say, but you know how MAGA thinks. So he’s essentially right out, no matter how much he tries. And then there’s the grift book coming out. Back to the subject, Trump is going downhill, especially with his dementia-touched mind. He’s being questioned. He’s *not* being slavishly followed anymore, and that’s now a problem for him.
“And I think you’re right that Donald Trump, on some level, the combination of detachment and the sense of kind of fatalism about what’s going to happen and if he’s going to save himself in the midterms, save the party in the midterms, he’s going to have to do it through things like the SAVE Act. And maybe with all this increasing talk, deploying ICE to polling places, those are the only –– he’s not going to be able to turn this around in a conventional political way. That’s the one thing I think he still knows.”
We can be pretty damn confident he knows. Even the birthright citizenship nonsense could be directed at fixing the results. If people aren’t citizens after all, they can’t vote, right? He is trying to come up with anything to tip the scales, and it’s not going well. He’s hemorrhaging support left and right. Firing members of his cabinet won’t help, either. If he can’t “fix” the midterms, he’s sunk. Let’s hope he does end up with a 5-ton anchor on him, because he could probably float with anything else since his body is fat crap. Figuratively speaking, that is.
