This has been quite a day! So much to write about, so how do you choose? This one is a pretty damn big, unexpected, and incredibly surprising event. We can guess it stunned a LOT of people. The resignation letter is pretty damn blunt. Considering how fanatical this guy was with MAGA and a disturbing dedication to Trump, leaving is unusual. Appreciation to CNN:
A senior US intelligence official appointed by President Donald Trump abruptly announced he is stepping down from his post on Tuesday, citing misgivings about the administration’s war with Iran. Joe Kent, who had been serving as the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, posted his resignation letter on X, contradicting the administration’s basis for launching the war and imploring Trump to end it. “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” Kent wrote in the letter. “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”
Who has been thinking about this all along? Could be Marco Rubio. I have not been able to confirm that. Yet. But here we have one of the top guys, someone dedicated to Trump, saying “this war is bullsh!t”. It seems to me that Dumbass Donnie should pay attention to this. We can’t even bet on it. 99 to 1 odds are not worth playing. It seems so *obvious* as to why Mr. Kent is leaving. Have no fear. Disgusting Donnie will ignore it and continue on.
The resignation is the highest-profile rebuke yet of the war effort from a Trump administration insider and staunch supporter of the MAGA movement, albeit one who instantly drew criticism for alleged antisemitism. It reflects how the conflict is roiling some of Trump’s most high-profile MAGA supporters, like Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, even though rank-and-file Republicans largely back the president.
It also renews questions, which the administration has long struggled to answer, about why the US launched the effort in the first place. Some lawmakers and experts have raised doubts over the intelligence the president used to justify the war, and Kent’s account gives them fresh reason to criticize Trump’s move.
No one wants this war. And we *all* want to know why we’re in it, because no one is giving us a straight answer. Ever. I’m beginning to doubt we’ll actually find out. Mr. Kent’s resignation letter flat-out says there’s no good reason for it. But Israel wants the help. It’s likely that they either gave him a gift$$$, or twisted his arm in some other way. My brain is not parsing it.

Trump said Tuesday that it’s a “good thing” Kent resigned over his objections to the war with Iran, deriding him as “very weak on security.” “When somebody is working with us that says they didn’t think Iran was a threat, we don’t want those people,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “They’re not smart people, or they’re not savvy people.”
As expected. Doofus Donnie can’t admit he’s wrong. He put Mr. Kent in the position in the first place! But having him resign makes Donnie run to cover up and misdirect. He always has to be this amazing orange tin god, even when he isn’t. Pay attention to Mr. Kent, Dumbass Donnie. He should think about what he said and fit it into his war. He should learn from it. Despicable Donnie? Nahhh. He won’t.
