This was not the first thing I had intended to write about, but it popped up on my phone notifications, and it is too good to pass up. Blondi *really* should have kept her head down, because someone noticed her. And now they’re going to have a good time forcing her out into the open. She well deserves it. I’ll have to say it’s a surprise that Republicans supported this, but these days you never know what a Republican might do! From CNN (subscription may be required):

House Oversight Chair James Comer on Tuesday issued a subpoena to Attorney General Pam Bondi to appear for a deposition on April 14 as part of the panel’s probe into Jeffrey Epstein. Comer wrote in the subpoena cover letter that his panel is investigating the “possible mismanagement of the federal government’s investigation” into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Mismanagement *snort* Well, gee, it appears Comer grew a spine, at least for a few minutes. I don’t know if I can stand the excitement! Well, he could have been forced into it, too, but nevertheless. Blondi has been subpoenaed. It has warmed the cockles of my mean little black heart. I hope we get some oomph in that committee when we flip Congress. Comer needs to take a long, long vacation and think about his actions (or lack thereof).

“The Committee has questions regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act,” Comer wrote, referring to the law passed by Congress last year mandating the Justice Department’s release of the files. CNN has reached out to the Justice Department for comment on the subpoena. DOJ’s release of the files has prompted complaints from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, with critics saying they believe the files were overly redacted and demanding greater transparency.

Seems overly redacted is an understatement; they didn’t redact the survivors. That is complete and total bullsh!t. That’s the part that pisses me off the most. It is, of course, closely followed by all the rich men *getting* redacted. Don’t forget Ghislaine’s palace prison.  At this point, we know Epstein and Ghislaine were perverts, and we know, even if we’ve seen no good proof yet, that Dunderhead Donnie is too. This *all* needs to come into the light.

“As Attorney General, you are directly responsible for overseeing the Department’s collection, review, and determinations regarding the release of files pursuant to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the Committee therefore believes that you possess valuable insight into these efforts,” Comer wrote. The move comes after the GOP-led committee, on a bipartisan basis, voted earlier this month to subpoena Bondi for testimony about her role in the release of the files. Separately, the committee announced that Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche are scheduled to brief the panel in closed session on Wednesday.

I damn well hope she has to testify behind closed doors because there won’t be a time limit on questions. They should take her “burn books” away so she doesn’t have material to try to turn the question into a “reverse” attack. *She* is there to *answer* questions, not the other way around. We need answers, not nonsense. Please let the committee ask her the hard questions and make her answer them. Please let her go down in flames. And Todd going down in flames would be a bonus, especially after the whole Ghislaine episode. The time for this is past due. The time for this is now.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! See you soon!

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
