Ok, so Trump doesn’t have car keys because he’s been driven around in fancy cars and limos for decades. He probably doesn’t have a driver’s license to cut up either. But you get the point. I’ll bet the Secret Service holds their breath just seeing his fat ass zooming ahead of everyone in his supercharged golf cart! (Has to get way ahead so he has time to cheat) I wonder if any have been fired for suggesting to him he just relax and let the agent drive? You get the point. He’s the cranky old grandpa who raises hell when the family says it’s time to stop driving. It’s the same with him and the Presidency. He’s not up to ‘driving’ and in fact is a DANGEROUS driver. Vance and the Cabinet need to proverbially take away the car keys and cut up Trump’s license by invoking the 25th Amendment.
Don-OLD has had himself a bad week. His approval is still in the bottom of his fake gold toilet, ICE’s antics are keeping his head below the level of the nasty water and SCOTUS is showing signs it’s tired of carrying so much of his water. The haven’t ruled on Tariff’s and the delay is likely because they can’t invent some way of backing him. Oral arguments on his attempt to fire Lisa Cook took place and conservatives poured cold water on Trump! Then came Davos and his low energy attempt to bully the European Union, NATO and lots of rich business people. His Greenland threats caused the stock market to tank the day before his speech and Canada’s PM ripped Trump and the U.S. a new one.
The rest of the world grew a spine and even Trump realized before taking the podium they were united against HIM, and ready to tell the U.S. to piss off. So after trying to rant about windmills and other nonsense Trump said he wouldn’t use force to take Greenland. Also, while the speech was one lie after another he got in plenty of WHINING about Nobel Prizes and how all he wants is a big piece of ICE called Greenland. Or Iceland – he kept conflating the two countries! It was dementia Don for all the world to see. Even he had to have realized that with the eyes of the world on him, and over in Europe during their normal hours he looked weak and worn out. He was beaten and he knew it.
That led to yet another attempt at face saving, trotting out the “I’ve got the outlines of a plan” crap. In reality he doesn’t have anything he and the U.S. didn’t have before when it comes to Greenland. Worse (for him) deep down inside he knew/knows everyone knows it. Trump has clearly been sliding deeper and deeper into both physical and mental infirmity. As was pointed out in the Jack Smith hearing today the only reason he ran for President was to stave off being hauled into court by Jack Smith. Smith would have gotten convictions in both the Jan. 6 case in DC and the classified documents case in Florida and either would have forced us to figure out how to lock up a former President.
Trump is washed up and worn out. By spending four years lying about Jan. 6 and running for another term he again ran out the clock (with some major help from SCOTUS/Roberts and Canon) and got what he wanted which was to not die in jail in a polyester orange jumpsuit. Even better, with no more guardrails he was free to abuse his office to enrich himself. But even that latter one doesn’t seem to give him much pleasure anymore. He is just not all there anymore. Ok, so he hasn’t been in a while but he’s clearly mostly checked out. Now, at Davos it looks like the rest of the free world has accepted that ‘humoring’ him or flattering him is a losing proposition. They are done do so.
Trump’s mental state will I truly believe go over the edge of the cliff once that to him horrifying reality sets in. The question is what batshit insane thing(s) he’ll do THEN? That’s why as this article from The Daily Beast tells us calls are increasing for the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment:
Democrats are begging President Donald Trump’s Cabinet to “take the keys” away from him after his rambling, low-energy address to the World Economic Forum.
“He said a lot of crazy s–t today,” Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern told MeidasTouch. “I think it’s time to take the keys away from Grandpa. He doesn’t seem like he’s all there.”
New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim concurred, saying, “Trump’s Davos speech is an embarrassment. He can’t even remember which country he’s currently bullying.”
Alas, there seems to be no signs of Vance and the Cabinet even thinking about, much less quietly working behind the scenes to do. Like most GOPers on Capitol Hill their DNA has been altered by too much orange Kool-Aide or they are just downright scared to do what has to be done. Just like adult children afraid to take away grandpa’s car keys before he maims or kills someone with his car, they are afraid mean Trump tweets (or whatever they’re called on Truth Social) will main or kill their political careers.
California’s Eric Swalwell called out his GOP colleagues today during the Jack Smith hearing. He cited insulting statements he’d heard various GOPer on the committee make in private about Trump and castigated them for being small/tiny when the cameras are rolling. I for one found it interesting that not a one of them tried to counter what Swalwell said! I urge you to read the linked article and all the comments from various Democrats but I want to highlight one from Democrat Seth Magaziner that echo’s Swalwell:
“He’s clearly not well. He’s erratic, delusional, and putting people in harm’s way,” Magaziner answered. “People decline like that often, but what is truly reprehensible is the way Republican officials, members of his Cabinet, and members of the media are pretending that any of this is normal.”
I’ll be the first to admit the consequences of removing Trump could make some things worse. For a Yale Law School grad Vance is awfully clueless and he only became a Senator because onetime benefactor Peter Theil set him up in business a couple of times. And Vance failed. Rather than write off his investment Theil bought Vance a Senate seat which he parlayed into being Trump’s VP pick with some Olympic level ass kissing. Vance was heavily involved in developing Project 2025 so there’s that. However the Heritage Foundation is imploding so Vance can count on them for as much help as he’d have had. However while opportunistically evil to his core at least Vance isn’t batshit crazy. And he wants to be President so bad he can taste it.
Maybe he’s at work trying to get dirt on enough cabinet members to force them to take away grandpa Trump’s keys. I’m a senior citizen now and am infuriated things in this country got to this point. However I’m not willing to quit. You shouldn’t quit either. Dictators and wannabe Dictators hate being mocked/made fun of the way vampires hate sunlight and holy water. The more mockery of Trump that appears on social media the more at some point major news outlets will have to talk about it. THAT might finally drive Trump into an on-camera meltdown that even the most spineless GOPers in DC can no longer ignore.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

I think you identified the one thing we can all hope for. For himself to get so enraged at all the mockery that he completely flips out and publicly reveals all ugliness and disfunction in his head.
I wouldn’t put it past Vance to be doing some high-level calculating behind Dumbf’s back, but you’d need two-thirds of his Cabinet to agree to a 25th Amendment coup. I’d bet money that they’re not enough of them who want to give up the gravy train they’re riding.
