Trump is a predictable character and his mental traits are the most predictable of all. He has taken to displacing his narcissistic injury over Jeffrey Epstein and now transferred all that rage to a narcissisic tantrum over not getting the Nobel Peace Prize — and only the folks in Norway will ever know how *close* Trump came to the award and they’re not telling. If I had to guess, I would say that Trump missed it by a country mile. Here is Trump’s latest correspondence with Norway, just as clinically batshit as you would expect, from a psychological point of view.

And it is futile, evidently, to explain to Trump that he basically *has* total and complete control of Greenland. Denmark is more than willing to go along with whatever troops or armaments Trump wishes to deploy there — they merely have no intention of signing a deed of trust giving him Greenland. Mind War:
In this short letter, Trump vividly demonstrates one of the most common strategies of narcissists under threat: displacement. “You made me do it” is what every abuser says to his victim.
It is also wildly illegal to tie military action to a personal insult. This one line is far worse than what Trump was impeached for the first time:
“Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace…”
Trump’s narcissistic injury over Epstein—the threat to his self-image of respect, status, and power—has been transferred to narcissistic rage over the Nobel Peace Prize.
To make this displacement even more distant, the Nobel Committee is not controlled by the Norwegian government—and Norway does not control Greenland. Denmark does.
Moreover, Trump actually owns the physical Nobel Peace Prize because the rightful laureate, Maria Corina Machado, gave it to him in the hopes that he would allow her to run Venezuela. Instead, he immediately forgot her name.
And while Trump claims that Russia is a threat to take over Greenland, hours later he invited Putin to be on the “Board of Peace” for Gaza. It is not just incoherent as foreign policy, it is a mirror world.
The “logic” behind Trump’s letter is completely internal to himself, which is why it is utterly incoherent to most people. But inside his mind, it makes sense. His self-image has been damaged, and this is an attempt to repair it by displacing blame for his own actions to outsiders—and by reasserting his dominance over the world.
Dementia
Trump’s decline is not just psychological. By now that is very clear. Trump is suffering the effects of progressive dementia, and likely vascular problems as well.
Among the primary behavioral markers of frontotemporal dementia are disinhibition, increasingly inappropriate behavior, impulsivity, irritability, and lack of judgement. Trump’s letter is all of the above, and it’s part of a clear spiral pattern. He has lost the ability to distinguish his internal reality from the objective world, so anyone who deviates from his self-image becomes a target for his rage.
And that could be anybody or everybody in a nation of 330 million people or in a world of seven billion. Trump is spiralling down and we all pretend that Uncle Donald really isn’t that crazy, he’s just having a bad day. No wonder he fears impeachment when the House changes to Democratic hands. On some level even Trump may be dimly aware of how out of it that he is, except he doesn’t see it that way: he sees it as self righteous rage and thoroughly justified. It’s the other guy that is wrong: always.

No, he’s not having a bad day, and he’s not just trump being trump. He’s certifiable and should be removed from office. The whole world knows it. Congress has its work cut out for them.
Bad Day? He’s intentionally lived a bad LIFE. Since he was a kid, and already constantly showing his ass causing his big brother to dump a bowl of mashed potatoes over his head and ran off with the laughter of the WHOLE family ringing in his ears every day since he’s looked for ways to HURT others.
He’s going to use this as his reason to try to take over Greenland.
Yeah, because NORWAY didn’t give him the Nobel prize, (which they can’t because that’s done by the private Nobel Foundation), he wants to take land off DENMARK, a completely separate country, with a separate language.
Sheer unbelievability.
If this was part of a movie plot they’d be getting it re-written to make more sense.
And this is the guy with his finger on the nuclear button?
It’s like invading Venezuela to combat drugs coming from Colombia and Mexico.
Oh wait.
He is so out of it and represents a clear and present danger to all of us as well as the rest of the world community. If we had a fully responsible Congress (looking at you, Repugs!), they would have applied the 25th Amendment already.
Congress can’t apply the 25th Amendment. It requires the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the President unable to serve. If the President contests the declaration, then the decision goes to Congress. It takes a 2/3 vote in each House of Congress to oust the President.
To emphasize, Congress can do nothing unless the Vice President and the Cabinet act.
Agreed. Now, how do we trigger the Cabinet? Such a move will have to be certain of success with sufficient backing of others. Vance, anyone?
