Karma seems to have waded into our national discussion with a not at all subtle message to ICE and DHS. Or perhaps it’s Irony which Team Trump and the GOP takes such delight in flogging getting up off the mat – by sending an ICE agent pratfalling on cold, hard, literal ice. Regardless there’s a viral video of what one can argue is a message from God, Karma, Irony, the Universe or whatever you believe in that ICE needs to get the hell out of Minneapolis/St. Paul and Minnesota. If you’re having a rough day, then cheer up and better yet do so at the expense of ICE’s ‘dignity.’Â It’s a hilarious few seconds of video and the only problem I’ve got with it is that while it’s gone viral on social media I haven’t seen it on TV news. Hmmm.
Call me mean but I really, really enjoy this. Having had my own share of falls on ice, some of which caused some serious bruising and soreness and some of which were just plain old embarrassing as friends were there to laugh their butts off before helping me up I can relate to this agent’s mishap. Fortunately, ICE’s belief that shooting and killing a white woman in a soccer mom vehicle in a quiet neighborhood didn’t intimidate folks in the Twin Cities (or around the country) into submission. Instead of being too scared to get out and monitor ICE’s campaign of fear and terror MORE people are out. And filming them.
It’s serious work but as you will see can lead to some lighthearted moments. And think about this. This prick wasn’t alone. Nope, his buddies will have been close by and know EXACTLY who slipped and landed on his ass like a cartoon character. They won’t EVER let him live it down. Some things stick with a person. I’ve got a friend of over five decades who if we saw each other again wouldn’t be able to resist greeting me with “Hey DB!” or even speaking out what the initials mean. Especially if others from those days who took up calling me that were around. I can just imagine his delightful wife shushing him while turning her head and holding a hand to her face so I wouldn’t see her being unable to smile. My point is that some embarrassments you never live down. As this guy will learn!
Anyway, as this article from Newsner Stories tells us one of ICE Barbie’s thugs got himself a huge whack in the backside of embarrassment that will give him (I hope) nightmares. Oh the humanity HUMILIATION. In front of all those people who were supposed to have been intimidated into staying home! When you watch the video (you owe yourself a smile) make sure to click to turn on the video. Yes, the taunting was music to my ears but as I said it will be NOTHING compared to the ‘ration of sh*t’ he’s going to be taking from his colleagues. Dare we hope that this truly blows up and he gets fired for embarrassing the agency. Hey, not for the first time I’ll admit to having weird fantasies.

Charlie Chaplin would have been proud of that pratfall. That’s how entertaining it was. However Chaplin would have (and did) milk the entertainment for all he could. THIS guy got up and ran away back towards wherever he came from. Humiliated. With laughter and taunts ringing in his ears. As you can imagine in both links there are plenty of clever comments poking fun at this dude. Which he so richly deserves I might add. However one poses a kind of interesting question: The THUG was chasing somebody when his feet shot out from under him and he fell flat on his ass. Clearly unhurt he got up right away. More proof he was unhurt was him running away from the scene.
The question is who was he chasing and why? That was the comment that stood out to me – the one that said in effect he must have decided the person he was pursuing wasn’t worth pursing in the first place. Nope, he abandoned his chase and ran back to his pals. THAT tells you how dumbass, how worthless it is to have all those agents where they are doing what they’re doing. They are there to roust people. To make a statement in a city that’s in a state that (ahem) just so happens to have a Governor who ran on the ticket against Trumpty Dumpty in 2024. Trump is nothing if not vindictive and he’ll by god make as many Minnesotans suffer under an occupation as he can.
I wanted this article to be fun but there’s one more serious thing I feel compelled to bring up. While this video has gone viral on social media, major TV outlets don’t seem to want to touch it with a ten-foot pole. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The bosses in the corner suites have ‘discouraged’ something that makes fun of Trump, even if by indirect means. Trump has invested a LOT of political capital in brutalizing Minneapolis/St. Paul and the state of Minnesota.
A warning to the country if you will. Don’t mess with ICE. I for one have no doubt that some unofficial word was passed about this could be a great chance to provoke an incident that would give him an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act. Declare Martial Law. If someone say got shot and killed, especially a WHITE person (and a woman) in one of the whitest freaking places in the country it was hinted (if not outright said) that people everywhere would be intimidated and stay home. Or react in outrage and attack ICE agents en masse, and/or attack and vandalize their facilities. THAT is what Trump hoped to and still hopes will happen.
However for the moment he’d settle for people all over the country being cowed into submission. Stay home and don’t go filming his THUGS going about their ugly, hateful and despicable jobs. It’s all backfired and spectacularly so. As Rachel Maddow pointed out last night in just a few days THOUSANDS of protests sprung up all over the country. Sometimes a couple hundred protesters, sometimes thousands, all of them filming and calling out ICE for their brutality and cruelty.
Now we have a PERFECT image of ICE to mock them, and by extension DHS and Trump himself. I’d love to be up in Minneapolis with a sign saying something like “Hey ICE – You can slip and fall on ice! and shouting similar things. I’m sure the good folks up there will come up with such taunts, as will people in other places that have snow and ice.
Well, for now allow yourself a minute or so of pure fun. Looks at the links. Watch the brief video and read the comments. Hit the like button. Share it as far and wide as you can even if you repeat doing so on platforms other than Reddit where it shows up. Make it IMPOSSIBLE for major TV outlets to ignore it. THAT is what the folks around Trump truly fear, that he’ll see it on TV and go batshit insane. And try to get your Congress Critters to have the video handy the next time Noem or someone from DHS has to appear at a hearing. Mock THEM and their agents with it, and ask the question: “Do you think this is a sign that your agents should go home and go back to how ICE operated before Trump got back in the WH?”
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. I’ve made my feelings about ICE agents clear, including calling them the P-word. I know doing so offends many people here. Still I can’t resist saying this about those COWARDS who cosplay with all their tactical gear and mask their faces:
It’s Minnesota. Freaking COLD, even in the daytime. Someone who is a gifted ice sculptor needs to make a huge, like six foot or more tall vagina and park it on a flatbed outside the ICE office in Minneapolis. With big banners on both sides. One would depict the badge they are supposed to wear/display but often don’t, or gets covered up. The other could depict their cosplay gear. That mask, those gaitors that they seem to prefer, body armor, a tactical belt with cans of pepper spray and other stuff.
Like I said it is COLD up there this time of year so the thing could get rolled out day after day. Hell, go whole hog and make several and drive them around town and take video of people cheering! Like Dictators, bullies hate ridicule. They rely on fear and making fun of them strips them of their whole Eric Cartman of Southpark ‘Respect my Authoriton’ demeanor.
As with that video of the guy falling IF enough people keep showing and talking about it on social media at some point the media bosses won’t have a choice. They’ll have to let their on-air ‘talent’ show it on the news and talk about it. The way I see it the only way to drive ICE back under their slimy rocks like was done with the Klan when I was young is to make ICE as much an object of ridicule as outrage.
