This is a new spin. Quoting the law verbatim is now considered “sedition.” But it makes a great deal of sense when you consider that anything that upsets Donald Trump is “sedition” whether it happens to be legal or not. Senator Mark Kelly is now in Pete Hegseth’s crosshairs and he will undergo a formal censure and administrative proceedings will take place to determine whether his Navy rank will be reduced in retirement. Pete didn’t like being told he was “like a 12-year-old playing Army,” we can only surmise. Washington Post:
Hegseth said in a social media post that as a retired Navy officer, Kelly is “still accountable to military justice” and repeated allegations that Kelly has made “seditious statements.” The dispute centers on a video in which the Arizona senator and five other Democrats reminded U.S. troops they can disobey illegal orders, infuriating President Donald Trump.
Trump decides what’s legal or not. The rule of law is some silly construct, don’t pay it too much mind. Just go with Trump’s flow.
Kelly could not immediately be reached for comment. He and his attorney, Paul Fishman, have previously decried the Trump administration’s handling of the situation, warning that if administration officials moved forward with any form of discipline against the senator, they would take legal action to halt what they called “dangerous overreach.”
Hegseth on Monday alleged that Kelly, a retired Navy captain, and the other lawmakers involved had “released a reckless and seditious video that was clearly intended to undermine good order and military discipline.” In response, the defense secretary said, the Pentagon will launch grade determination proceedings, a process by which military officials consider the appropriate rank for an individual in retirement. Hegseth also said he had issued a formal letter of censure “which outlines the totality of Captain (for now) Kelly’s reckless misconduct.”
“This Censure is a necessary process step, and will be placed in Captain Kelly’s official and permanent military personnel file,” Hegseth said. “Captain Kelly has been provided notice of the basis for this action and has thirty days to submit a response.”
Government is ugly and punitive in this era in which we live. And it took us 250 years exactly for America to get here. However, and mark my words, I think Senator Kelly’s return punch will be very interesting. Kelly is in the right morally and legally and Hegseth is merely swinging his balls because he’s the Secretary of Defense and he can. This will be noteworthy.

I don’t think Hegseth is “like a 12-year-old playing army.” I think he’s like a 5-year-old playing
grown-up.
They think that they’re administrating FAFO.
But they’re about to find out that FAFO applies to them.
And the important part is defining FA, which they can’t do.
To all the vets who voted for Trump. This could happen to you also. You supported a traitor, coward and un-American creep for president. Your benefits are not as secure as you think.
Kelly is becoming my favorite 2028 candidate.
