I alluded to this in a recent article. On the day of his arrest and Bondi’s appalling press conference Jan. 6 DC Bomber suspect Brian Cole was said to be an ‘Anarchist.’ At least that’s the line put out by Bondi and Team Trump. By the time I wrote that article more information was already starting to come out. Information suggesting Cole wasn’t an Anarchist but an actual Trump supporter. Well, to what is a major embarrassment for Trumpy Dumpty it’s looking more and more like it’s true. Cole was in fact a Trumper and upset about the election!
When I wrote about this before it was reported Cole had been interviewed by the FBI for four hours. I’m betting Bondi, and Patel (and Bongino too) are in a boiling pot of cow excrement over allowing regular ole professional FBI agents to interview their shiny suspect who they were sooooooooo sure was some “crazed liberal.” Maybe given the job (on truth and justice as in trashing them) he did with his ‘interview’ with Ghislaine Maxwell they should have sent in Todd Blanche. Oops. Well, more time has passed and it appears those early contradictions to Team Trump “Anarchist” claim are true. As this Raw Story article explains it seems the suspect is, or at least at the time he planted the bombs was a Trump supporter!
It gets better, or worse I suppose depending on how you look at it:
Bradley Moss, a national security analyst, told CNN that the White House now has to manage the fallout after 30-year-old suspect Brian Cole Jr. told law enforcement that he believed that the 2020 election was “stolen.” The claim was one that President Donald Trump had made and led to the Capitol mob attack on Jan. 6, just a few hours after the pipe bombs were placed outside the Republican and Democratic party headquarters.
“We’re learning some rather awkward and embarrassing things for the White House and for, honestly, some of the senior members of the Justice Department and the FBI, because this defeated all of the theories, all the conspiracies for the last four years about who this particular pipe bomber could have been,” Moss said.
The linked article goes on to note it could wind up being an even bigger problem for the Justice Department. Gee, ya think? Ask yourself about things you’ve read and heard about this case over the intervening years. Trump and his enablers, including Fox and even crazier RWNJ news outlets have promoted the notion this was a) some liberal, or b) an “inside job” by the FBI or other anti-Trump government agents.
Patel and Bongino in particular went out of their way to go on conservative news outlets to promote that kind of crap. AND used the fact no one had been arrested as their proof. In fact that was the theme of that nasty and appalling announcement of the arrest. The LIE that the Biden administration has made NO effort to apprehend the bomber. The forcefulness of that lie was the intended takeaway. As I’ve said however it seems clear they already knew what for them (and Trump) was the inconvenient truth – that their man (no folks, it didn’t turn out to be MTG after all) wasn’t some Antifa liberal. Or even an Anarchist. I’m now convinced they knew by then he was one of THEM.
In the linked article Moss has plenty to say about Patel and Bongino and their years of selling false narratives. Okay so maybe they actually believed their own bullshit about it being an inside job from the FBI or Capitol Police. But the fact is as Moss said:
They had always made it out to be that this was some kind of insider gig,” Moss added. “What is it? It’s just a regular guy who believed Donald Trump’s conspiracies about 2020 and who allegedly took this action.”
Yep, just some dude in his mid-twenties (at the time) who refused to believe the reality that the election was free and fair even according to Trump’s own AG and other high ranking government officials including Trump’s handpicked FBI Director Chris Wray. He refused to believe Trump got his ass whipped by close to EIGHT MILLION in the popular vote. Instead he chose to believe the ‘Big Lie’ put out by Trump and his ass-kissing enablers like Rudy Giuliani, Sydney Powell, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone and others.
Why he chose to plant pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC headquarters we don’t yet know. He had to know all about the big protest/likely riot (remember the call to show up because ‘It’s going to be wild’ talk from Trump?) was daily news. Maybe he tried to get involved with the groups intended to lead the attempted coup/attack on the Capitol and got rebuffed. Perhaps, because while informal advisors were talking crazy to Trump and urging him to not to leave office responsible government officials like VP Pence, Barr, Wray and others made it clear Trump’s bigly loss was legitimate. So in addition to bombing the DNC he decided the RNC was part of the ‘Deep State’ and should be targeted too.
I’m sure we’ll learn more as time goes by. I’m also pretty sure it will be stuff Bondi and the rest of Team Trump will fight like hell to keep hidden. I’m talking Epstein file type stonewalling. Cole will I imagine get put under enormous pressure to plead guilty in a sweetheart deal. Blanche probably already has the proffer drafted! Hell, Trump might even PARDON the guy rather than have this go to trial and his lawyer putting up a defense. Hell, Trump pardoned everyone else involved in January 6 and it’s easy to imagine this guy’s lawyer saying something along the lines of ‘People known to have assaulted law enforcment officers that in some cases led to their subsequent deaths, and committed other felonies got pardoned. My client’s bombs didn’t even go off so why should HE get a pardon too?
Well, I could speculate all day long. Just know that it’s a bad weekend for Team Trump. They tried to paint a false, misleading picture about the suspect and within hours it started falling apart. Journalists are actually growing new spines and making it clear this was an actual Trump supporter trying to set off bombs on Jan. 6. It warms my heart to think of the embarrassment and anguish in Trump’s inner circle. Especially since it’s only going to get worse!

Well effing duh. 1/6 idiots also believed 45 at the time that the election was stolen. So a whole lotta of ’em stormed the capitol, beat up, and even killed capitol police. Not surprising that the pipe bomber was a 45 supporter.
Well, if it hadn’t been for the inconvenient fact that the guy confessed during the interview, Bondi and Patel could’ve always just blamed the “fresh set of eyes” responsible for finding him in the first place. The pair could’ve said those “eyes” belonged to some “radical leftist” intent on blaming a “loyal Drumpf supporter.”
