This gets better and better … if you enjoy farce. She should know better than to go off script. She really should. She’s fuffed up enough and hasn’t learned a damn thing from it. But, as we say, practically nothing surprises us anymore from this administration. So now we bring you the latest example of idiocy. From Raw Story:

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s “main priority” at the moment is constructing a $200 million ballroom addition to the White House. When she was asked whether Trump had any plans for additional White House renovations, she replied, “Not to my knowledge, no, but he’s a builder at heart, clearly. And so his heart and his mind are always churning about how to improve things here on the White House grounds. But at this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

The *ballroom*. Soooo he apparently thinks about that more than anything going on with the country he’s wrecking. He got the one thing he wanted: to stay out of jail.  He no longer concerns himself with anything except the grift. Remember the money he’s made from just about anything in the world that is *supposed* to be in his trust, “controlled by his sons”?

Yea no. It’s just a façade. It’s his, and he doesn’t care who knows it. SCOTUS won’t allow anyone to even have a chance at suing him for this shizzle. And this is our president, who has made us the laughingstock of the world. It’s always easy to find something or other that he has done. Tariffs come to mind first thing, or the economy failing, true?

Leavitt possibly only meant “priority” in the narrow sense of what Trump wants to do with the White House, and not government in general — but the ambiguous way she phrased it prompted immediate criticism and attacks from Democratic lawmakers, staffers, and pundits, who seized on her remarks on social media to mean that Trump cares more about adding luxury amenities onto the White House than he does about reopening the federal government, paying millions of civil servants, or restoring health care subsidies to working people.

Is this what we’ve known all along? Maybe and maybe not. This was kept close to the chest, so we had no real clue until this ballroom crap got started and he tore down history. That’s going to be a pain point for us for a long, long, LONG time. Reminds one of the Joni Mitchell song lyric “they paved paradise/and put up a parking lot”. Trump is remaking the White House in his image. It’s tacky and painful. To close:

“Honestly, you can’t make this s— up,” wrote Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to his X account. //// “Maybe literally anything else Americans are struggling with could be a priority? Cost of living? Health care? National security? Just a thought,” wrote the House Natural Resources Committee Democrats account. //// “It’s clear national security is not his main priority,” wrote the House Homeland Security Committee Democrats account ////  “Run this in every single ad next year. Every. Single. One,” wrote Democratic House staffer Brian Zilm. //// Tommy Scarangelo, the legislative affairs director for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, simply posted a GIF of the famous “I’m mad as hell and not going to take it anymore” scene from 1976’s “The Network”.

BREAKING: In a shocking moment, Karoline Leavitt admits that, as Americans are suffering behind high grocery prices and insurance premiums, ‘the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.’ And #RepublicansAreAWOL. Nobody voted for this,” wrote the account for Really American PAC.

Maybe MAGA thought they did. Well, they were wrong. Now the rest of us have to suffer for their stupidity. Actually, they have to suffer right along with us. If Trump keeps this up, we may have more MAGA members seeing that their god has feet of clay and start defecting. Who knows? And what Trump monstrosity is next?

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
