Organizers believe that the total number in New York was closer to 200,000, but a number between 100,000 and 200,000 is still massive.
In Washington, DC, reporter Kristin Garriss posted on X:
This is a view of the crowd from the press risers. Again, organizers tell me more than 200,000 people came out today. This is a major increase from June’s protests, most of the folks I talked with told me this was their first No Kings protest.
DC was expected to be the largest protest of the day.
In Atlanta, Georgia, organizers estimate a crowd of 12,000-15,000 attended the protest.
Boston and Philadelphia also drew massive crowds, but no firm estimate is available yet.
The eye test tells the American people that No Kings was a success. Calling the biggest protest in American history is likely not accurate.
Twenty million people protested for Earth Day in 1970 in the United States. The only other protests to come close to Earth Day 1970 were the George Floyd protests. It is possible that No Kings (October) could end up being the second-largest single-day protest in US history.
A better estimate likely won’t be available until Sunday, but the low-end estimate for today currently is that 6 million people will end up attending these protests. The high-end number will be around 10 million.
Either of those numbers would make the fall No Kings protest the second-largest single-day political protest in US history.
Let’s bottom line this very simply: Even with modest figures, even going with a low ball estimate, millions of Americans turned out nationwide. Trump is the most divisive and hated figure in American history since Mad King George. And a revolution is taking place. It is a peaceful one and one that will be decided at the ballot box in 2026.
Trump and his cronies can huff and puff but they cannot put together an anti-libs protest that will draw anything like what we have seen. Their anti-libs protest is the vicious and unnecessary cruelty of ICE.
They’re shaking in their shoes tonight, make no mistake. Trump went to Florida to hide because he didn’t want to see the massive demonstration just down the street in D.C. The man is a literal physical coward and if he stayed in Washington, he’d be cowering in the bunker now.
