“The Democrats made me do it,” is Kristi Noem’s message to travelers everywhere and it is the message that Donald Trump is sending as well, with his threats to defund SNAP at the end of October. What needs to happen, and I mean fast people, is that the Democrats need to do a counter messaging plan. It can be simple and direct, thirty seconds will be plenty. I’ll write the copy for free. It would be along the lines of “The Republicans have a unified government but they still can’t govern.” And explain how Thune and Johnson could easily stop all this if they would just do their jobs. We need to fight fire with fire — or rely on Newsom and Pritzker to do it.

Maybe I’ll mosey down to Harry Reid International and see this for real. But this is seriously nuts. Plus, it may even be a violation of the Hatch Act (yes, I know, that’s as dead these days as the Emoluments Clause) which states that an employee of the government can’t be doing partisan politics. The entire idea is to maintain the semblance of non-partisanship in the administration of government programs. At least, that used to be the way things were done.
We need to fight back on the negative messaging and maybe Kristi needs to take a look at Trump’s plunging approval rate. Clearly, something isn’t sticking. Maybe Teflon Don is losing his coating.
The GOP needs to fold on the ACA subsidies. Period, full stop, end of discussion. Or, if they don’t want to, fine. Then they can go into the toilet and through the sewage system until November of 2026, when the likes of Aetna, Blue Cross, you name it, send out bills reflecting as much as a 400% increase in premiums. The howls of outrage will be amazing.
This is Trump’s weak and stupid effort to ignore reality and use propaganda to get what he wants. That’s his MO and it is one we can easily adopt. Everytime Noem does one of these pitches we can throw some of her dirt at her, dead puppies, Corey Lewandowski, you name it.
A lot of Democrats may not want to sink that low but this is survival of the fittest, and if Trump has gotten where he is lying through his teeth, let’s show that to people. That is the way, I feel.
This ad is extremely disturbing and I think it just shows how far this mid-administration is willing to push the envelope on the Hatch Act (using government resources for political purposes). In fact, I think the envelope has been shredded for compost!!! ICE Barbie has again stained her image, BIGLY. But she seems to do THAT on a daily basis!
Now thAt the administration has posted a video at airport Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lines featuring Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem saying that operations are impacted because “Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government,” just consider this:
Can you think of a single movie in which there is a video from the government denouncing its political opponents playing on a loop in public spaces in which that government was the good guy?
