Be expecting stories on this to be moving like popcorn, the information just hit the wire services. Letitia James has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of the State of Virginia on alleged mortgage fraud charges. The attorney of record is Lindsey Halligan, the same lawyer who went after James Comey. Who’s next? I say Adam Schiff. Unless he’s being saved for last, like the cherry on the sundae.
According to multiple high-level sources, Halligan personally presented evidence before the grand jury, arguing that James falsified mortgage documents tied to a Norfolk, Virginia property.
The grand jury returned an indictment earlier today. James will reportedly be arraigned in Virginia federal court within days.
Career prosecutors in the Eastern District objected to the case, insisting there was no probable cause. One even resigned in protest. But political pressure prevailed. This is how the machinery of revenge works — it grinds the innocent to send a message to everyone else.
Letitia James, who courageously took on Trump in civil court and won, now finds herself at the center of the very weaponized system she once stood against.
The Bigger Picture
Make no mistake — this is not about mortgage paperwork.
This is about power. Fear. Control.
While Trump deploys the National Guard to “quell riots” that don’t exist, his loyalists inside the Justice Department are turning America’s legal system into a tool of retribution.
They’re not just indicting James — they’re sending a warning to every prosecutor, journalist, and whistleblower who dares to challenge them.
They want to crush those who held him accountable.
They want to rewrite history before we even finish living it.I told you days ago more indictments were coming.
I told you this was part of a broader pattern — one meant to break resistance through spectacle and fear.
First, they went after James Comey.
Now they’ve indicted Letitia James.
They are targeting Adam Schiff, Christopher Wray, and Jack Smith.
Jack Smith could be next, too. Christopher Wray is an odd choice, because to the best of my knowledge the only time Trump became infuriated with Wray was when Wray dared to suggest that Trump was hit by shrapnel and not a big bad bullet, in Butler, Pennsylvania. That doesn’t seem to rise to the level of Adam Schiff or Jack Smith. But again, this is Trump world. You never know.

Oh, wouldn’t it be such fun for James and her attorney(s) to open the books on Drumpf’s many instances of (actual) fraud during the course of this trial?
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client is being charged with fraud by a government which is currently headed by a man who was himself indicted on multiple fraud charges in the State of New York. And found GUILTY on 34 counts of fraud. But, the prosecution would have you believe there is absolutely no connection between the President’s* fraud conviction and the charges against my client.” And continue from that point just tying James’ prosecution as nothing more than a personal grievance being turned into the very weaponization of the government that Drumpf whined about for the past 5 years.
*I would add this word would need to be said with the most dripping sarcasm possible (and, if it weren’t completely unethical, an air quotes gesture).
