As many on the net have noted, it is extremely peculiar that Trump seems to actually have some understanding of history, specifically World War II history, but only so much as it involved sex-trafficking Korean girls and women over to Japanese soldiers for rape and abuse, disgustingly known as “comfort women” – a term that very few have heard thrown around since the 1960s. And yet Trump believes the issue to be worthy of mention in the Oval Office when meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. It was wholly bizarre and inappropriate, and that is also what made it entirely predictable. To be sure, sex-trafficking goes back as far as time and deserves attention, but it should be handled properly and not bantered about as almost nothing in the Oval Office. Still, many couldn’t help but notice that Trump, “best friend” to Jeffrey Epstein, the world’s most notorious sex-trafficker, would not only be highly conversant in the subject, but also believe it to be relevant to the meeting. It must be on his mind for some reason.
First to the video:
Trump: "The whole issue of the women. Comfort women. Very specifically. We talked and that was a very big problem for Korea, not for Japan. Japan was, wanted to go, they want to get on. But Korea was very stuck on that." pic.twitter.com/a3fj4Metch

Of course, Japan wanted to move on. They were the rapists and kidnappers, let bygones be bygones in their eyes. And now to transcripts on Mediaite before we go to the net’s reaction and analysis:
“Japan is a great ally of us. And I had a little bit of a hard time getting you two together because you’re still thinking about Comfort Women, right? Comfort Women! That’s all they wanted to talk about was Comfort Women. And I thought that was settled a few times over the decades.”
Again, sex-trafficking is a massive issue, but this isn’t that – at least not the historical practice. If something continues to this day, then address the here and now. But either Trump doesn’t want to do so, whether it is because he doesn’t know of the here and now or worse, he does, and doesn’t want to touch it with a pole. The discussion devolved into near incomprehensibility:
“Perhaps I’m wrong in saying it. Perhaps this isn’t right, but the whole issue of the women, Comfort Women, very specifically. We had talked, and it was a very big problem for Korea. Not for Japan. Japan, they wanted to get — they want to get on, but Korea was very stuck on that, you understand?”
“I don’t know. Perhaps you would like to answer. It’s a good question. It was hard getting Japan and Korea together because of what took place a long time ago. But Japan wants to do it. Korea was a little bit more tenuous.”
The fact that Japan raped and assaulted so many young Korean girls remains a serious point of contention between the two nations, but that is probably inherent to the dynamic. People rightly have long memories over “stealing” people as slaves for sex and bondage, then throwing them away (Many died). Given that Japanese leadership wasn’t even present for the meeting, broaching the topic at all is hard to explain. There is the possibility that Trump is intrigued by the whole idea, or even worse, familiar with such motivations and even sympathetic to them in practice.
People couldn’t help but make the Epstein connection:
No wonder Ghislaine Maxwell thinks Trump behaved fine – because the victims were just “comfort women.”
He’s is such POS and an international embarrassment. https://t.co/u8sUTZQrjv

Trump knows nothing abt foreign policy, yet gets animated abt "comfort women" — the systemic rape and sex trafficking of women and underage children during WWII — but then again, this is a guy who was best friends w/ the most notorious pedo in US history. pic.twitter.com/ADcEYDu3Rm

If anyone knows about "comfort women" it's trump and Epstein…

Exactly.
Of all history, Trump chooses comfort women — and still manages to insult Korea while excusing Japan.
He doesn’t “know” history, he weaponizes it stupidly.— AnatolijUkraine (@AnatoliUkraine) August 25, 2025
Trump seems to have a "thing" with young girls used as sex slaves, or as they' were known in 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣; Comfort Women.
hmmmm…reminiscing about the good ol' Epstein days🤔https://t.co/Vgqq60Lfnx

Trump STUNS observers with flippant remark on WWII SEX TRAFFICKING
Trump talked about "comfort women"
There could be anywhere from 20K to nearly 500K women & children who were TRAFFICKED into SEX slavery, abused, raped, & infected with venereal disease. https://t.co/MOS9uBKrb9

Trump didn’t even know what the DMZ on the Korean Peninsula was when he went there during his first term. But comfort women? Of course he would know about this. Very similar to the abuse suffered by the girls he and Epstein sexually assaulted.

1. Donald Trump's grandfather, Friedrich Trump, made his fortune in the Yukon operating brothels.
2. "Comfort women" were actually sex trafficked young girls, no different from the children that Donald Trump, Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked, raped, and terrorized https://t.co/5IURa6O1N7— Nasty Woman (@HandToForehead) August 25, 2025
WWII: Japanese soldiers could kill Korean "comfort women" at will. Survivors demand justice as Japan claims it's settled. Trump's dismissal ignores their suffering, echoing his liability for his own sexual "allegations." #ComfortWomen #Justice

You get it. The guy who calls soldiers suckers and losers does seem to almost condone getting girls and women as sex slaves for troops (They are not there for “comfort” – they are there to rape, the spoils of war to the depraved, and only used by fellow monsters.) Most decent men today would rush to help young trafficked women, to give them comfort. If Trump needed to address the situation – old as it is, he should have done so respectfully, reflecting the gravity of the problem, but instead he makes it all sound somewhat understandable, almost like a “men have needs” sort of justification, and those needs must be met even if it requires enslaving young women and girls. At the very least, Trump doesn’t seem to be outraged by it all. Wanting to move on. Perhaps he can totally relate to both the “need” and the desire to satiate that need in others – for a price.
Given the lengths Trump has gone to to keep his longstanding friendship with Epstein and the resulting questions out of the news, it is somewhat surprising that he simply cannot seem to resist visiting a subject that sounds as though it is dear enough to his heart that he is quite conversant and believes it is worth bringing up in international summits, even when Japan is absent.
Of all the critical topics to be brought up, whether it is tariffs, a new Pacific Rim security agreement, working together on emerging diseases, or the ongoing threat posed by North Korea, it is amazing that comfort women even came up. International sex-trafficking should be addressed at the highest levels, but that requires a focus on the here and now, not the practices amidst a brutal war when it is too late to help any of the women and girls tragically lost to such barbaric practices.
But something drew Trump to the topic. It is hard not to wonder whether Trump likes the idea of having a permanent sex-slave cast around as “comfort women” to powerful men. God knows that nights with his wife have probably been pretty uncomfortable of late. Melania is also 51 years old, and men like Trump don’t consider such women very “comfortable” nowadays. They like ’em young. Funny, most men find the very young to be an extremely uncomfortable dynamic.

Good gods this makes me want to vomit. Beyond disgusting. And talking to South Korea. WTF dude?
Well, Heinlein’s Revolution 2100 had Nehemiah Scudder forming his harem. Perspicaciously, the takeover was predicted to be in 2008, and the culprits were the fundamentalists. He did have a run-in with L Ron Hubbard, and he saw what fundies were up to. However, could never have imagined this would actually happen. It seemed too far-fetched and just a story. Hang onto your hats, this may turn out to be a long ride.
Perhaps the similarities between the “comfort women” and the Epstein case is why he is so seemingly captivated by it. I’m sure he wishes the Epstein matter would be moved on from. This could be his way to reinforce that message.
It will be interesting to see the reaction n Korean and Japanese media and public opinion, not to say government. When it comes to diplomacy, Trump is the proverbial bull in a china shop, isn’t he?
I’ve heard the South Korean President told Trump “I’m looking forward to seeing you golfing with Kim Jung Un”. I don’t quite get what he’s implying, but it’s supposed to be a put down.
