The ghost of John McCain has to be upset with Lindsay Graham. Again. If not for McCain (and Biden!) Graham would have been a nobody. Like the nasty Lamprey with those rows of teeth Lamprey Lindsay latched on to McCain as a ‘host’ but when the host gets too sick and or dies a new ‘host’ is needed to survive. So Graham sunk those teeth into Trump’s fat butt and still hasn’t let go. Trump seems at times to want to rid himself of this particular parasite but Graham hangs on somehow. At the moment trying to prop Trump up as “tough” and able to “crush” Russia anytime he wants. The problem of course is there’s not a chance in hell Trump would actually do it!
The thing is, Graham’s correct. Trump actually could crush Russia (and Putin with it) and grind it under his heel. This article from Alternet digs into the topic and it’s worth your time to read the whole thing. Alternet, starting with their headline doesn’t beat around the bush with cutesy acronyms like TACO (for those who still don’t know – Trump Always Chickens Out) and whomps Trump in blunt terms even the dumbest MAGA will get. With the Summit and aftermath where supposedly Trump would hold Putin to account, and the goings on early this week providing some cover for Trump getting rolled in Alaska Trump’s performance can be summed up in a single word. He CHOKED! Worse, we all know he will continue to do so.
CHOKED. One doesn’t have to be a sports fan to know the term. Trump sure as hell knows it and how being branded as someone who CHOKES means you are branding them as a LOSER. I say it’s time to hit Trump with a term he won’t just brush off and pretend he doesn’t get. It’s blogs like this that inspire people on social media, at some point a journalist will directly ask Trump if his putting off consequences for Russia is actually him CHOKING! My time as a competitive athlete is long gone but I remember well how me or any athlete reacts to that term. Trump WILL go batshit insane if it’s even suggested to him he CHOKES whenever it comes to Putin!
Let’s backtrack a bit to Graham and his Trump fluffing:
Lindsay Graham says he believes Donald Trump is ready to “crush” the Russian economy if that country’s leader, Vladimir Putin, doesn’t agree to peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Trump believes that if Putin doesn’t do his part, that he’s going to have to crush his economy,” the US senator told reporters in South Carolina on Tuesday. “Because you’ve got to mean what you say.”
You know what? Graham is one-hundred-percent correct that Trump holds the power to crush Russia’s economy (and Putin’s rule) and although unsaid Russia’s military too. He’s also spot-on when he says ‘You’ve got to mean what you say.” However everyone and I mean EVERYONE knows damn well that when it comes to tough talk about Putin Trump doesn’t mean any of it. Putin doesn’t know the west as well as he thinks he does but he DOES know the Kabuki Dance that plays out with Presidents and journalists, and the roles the ‘supporting class’ (GOP politicians and talking heads) play.
I’m sure Pootie doesn’t like it when, having been given permission to do so Trump tosses out some tough guy b.s. But it’s part of the game and since he has iron-fisted control over news in Russia their citizens will learn little, if any of it. The larger part the linked article makes however is the enabling of Trump by Republicans. He CHOKES, again and again and they either ignore it or make up lame excuses and lies. Some of it is mind boggling.
They spent several days trying to rewrite the history of the disaster of the Summit. Like Jan. 6, we could see for ourselves both how whipped Trump was and how smugly triumphant Putin was. Trump seemed to rally early last week, since for a change he had other world leaders suddenly showing up to support Zelensky. If plans had been for Trump, Vance, Rubio and others to gang up on Zelensky again all of a sudden actual heavyweights were on hand to gang up on Trumpty! Oh, it was noted he’d be talking to Putin later on and he did.
What Trump said to Putin we don’t know. However you can bet the farm there were no demands that Putin withdraw some of the ridiculous conditions he’s laid out to end the war HE started. Suck-up Republicans however delude themselves into thinking Trump will win Putin over:

“He does it each and every time,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything quite like it and I’ve been around some master dealmakers. He is the legend as far as I’m concerned. His policy prescriptions are so pragmatic and so sensible and in a distorted world, he’s recalibrating it all. It’s simply remarkable. And every single leader that I have met in my travels, they say the same things I do. Every single one of them.”

Using the words Trump and sensible in the same sentence is an oxymoron. Typical Trump fluffing it is. As far as other world leaders touting Trump’s deal making abilities, they are simply flattering him to try and make him amenable to themselves.
