Just another normal day in Washington, D.C. We have a mental patient in the White House but he is humored and nobody openly confronts him with the lies that he tells. Today is no different. Donald Trump was on CNBC this morning and told one whale of a whopper of an untruth. He claimed that the EU has “given” him $600 billion (yes, with a “b”) “to do anything I want.” Like what? Put a nuclear reactor on the moon? Or pay off the national debt? Or build more ballrooms at the White House (maybe add a casino or two?) Or it’s just a gift because the Europeans do so totally love them some Donald?

This is the problem right here. Trump gets on television and lies and everybody just sits there like the Sphinx and lets it happen. This is how we got into the mess we’re in. People who know nothing listen to TV. And they hear Trump talk the crazy talk and they believe it. And why should they NOT believe it when nobody is pushing back? The people he’s talking to are supposedly experts and they just let him rave and nod.

This is example 1,000,000,000,000 to the 10th power and then some of how Trump gets away with murder on TV because he knows how to manipulate TV. He does it every single day. And he did it today on a *credible* channel, not one of his right-wing bullhorns.

It was unconscionable for that reporter to say, “We’re working on finding out the details,” and then not push back on Trump when he said, “There are no details.” Oh yeah, right: somebody in the EU, whether it’s their government or private investors are just “giving” away that kind of money. And nothing is on paper. Righto. Happens all the time.

But here is the crux of what is wrong with this. If anybody other than Trump told that story, whether a legislator or businessperson of some sort, the interviewee would have been shot down in flames at once. But Trump gets up and lies, and it’s acceptable. It is this level of collusion with Trump’s lies that has landed us where we are, with him in office for a second term.

And then after this debacle, he went to the roof. Yes, he went to the roof.

Let’s see if Trump pays for the ballroom. And as to his “contributing” his salary, yes, he contributes it with one hand — while billing the hell out of the Secret Service while they are forced to lodge at one of his hotels at an inflated price. And he constantly takes trips at the taxpayers’ expense, most recently his business junket to Scotland, disguised as a diplomatic voyage. If anybody would audit Trump, it would be plain as Trump’s combover that he’s making an incredible profit on his *presidency* — and we haven’t even spoken about the sneakers, cologne, Melania’s Xmas ornaments, the bitcoin or any of the other tacky buffoonery.

But again, Trump lied from the roof like he lies about everything and he is never confronted. He’s more and more like that kid in Twilight Zone who had everybody in his thrall, because he could will them into the cornfield at any time. So they humored the little sociopath. Whatever he said, “That’s good, that’s really good.” Likewise, America has allowed itself to be taken hostage by an infantile sociopath who is also a pathological liar.

Here are a few other tidbits from today’s non interview — which simply makes it another successful photo op for Trump.

Um….right there on the roof? You’re going to build missiles on the roof? Splendid idea! Yes! You get an extra cheeseberder today for being such a good good boy with such bright ideas! Now come along, get your medication.

That would actually be the better way to deal with this. But instead, the media and all of Trump’s sycophants normalize his excesses. The media has been complicit in creating this monster from the very beginning. That is the problem. And it’s only getting worse. Because now he’s got the billionaire-owned outlets cowed and terrified of lawsuits.

  3. Make a deal with the Devil…don’t be shocked when you end up in HELL. The rich owners of all the corporations, especially the media, have done exactly that. Hypocrisy and Greed…our TRUE TWIN TOWERS. The others were lightweight happenstance. The republican party, along with Trump, THEIR CHAMPION, have killed far more people than went down in NYC. FACT.

    • That is a fact. And many more will end up dead, whether starving kids in Africa, starving people of all ages in Gaza, unvaccinated kids in America, the people of Ukraine, the list goes on and on.

  4. I guess given his lack of balance (i.e. the way he has to lean on podiums to stay upright sometimes) it was too much to hope for that he’d fall forward over the edge. A gust of wind might well have done the trick for us all. More proof to me there is no God.

    • Don’t forget it’s human hubris to think we know how the Almighty works out the plan. Hell…99% don’t even know enough about the universe to know even WHERE they phucking are. That being said, I feel your pain. All of us, except for the cult, and the corrupt, have endured almost a decade of this walking pustule. As a marine, you know discomfort well and how to keep going. I’m down to left foot, right foot, repeat.

      • Oh, bull to the shite. When confronted by EVIDENCE, this nonsense about “human hubris” shows that there is simply NO “Almighty.” Remember, this is the same “being” that ISSUED COMMANDMENTS to be followed and, top among them, is the “no other gods before me” but Drumpf obviously believes himself to be one of those “other gods” (if not *the* very god). Then, there’s also a few other little dictates such as “no adultery” and “no coveting” and, yet, Drumpf still walks among us.
        Remember, this is the same “god” who dispatched a series of plagues on Egypt just to free some slaves. The same “god” who sent bears to kill some kids who mocked the prophet Elisha for being bald. The same “god” who allowed thousands of innocent little boys to be massacred while Jesus and family fled to Egypt.

        • Oh, you cherry pick a few verses from the OLD TESTAMENT for ‘proof’? Dr John Lennox, a believer in Christ, was a professor emeritus at Oxford, who clearly destroyed leading atheists in debate.Check him out on YouTube. Funny how a majority of Nobel winning scientists manage to profess belief. There’s evidence to have reason to believe, just like you seem to think you have evidence for YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM. There’s no ‘proof’ in the scientific sense either way. You have no ‘proof’ anyone loves you. Whether you have evidence or not I’m not sure. Hope you do.
