In the ultimate “Why is this cheetah eating my face?” moment, Marjorie Taylor-Greene is making a lot of noise about her current displeasure with the Republican Party. To the extent that there is anything all that newsworthy about her lament, it is that she retains her loyalty to the MAGA base – there’s that, while also decrying the “Old Boys Network” that, according to MTG, operates with a misogyny-first agenda. To be sure, she doesn’t explicitly call it “misogyny,” that would flirt with sounding “woke,” no, she merely complains about how conservative women are treated within the party. She knows better than to implicate Trump in any of this, primarily limiting her current outcry to Mike Johnson and his enablers, but given there is little room between Johnson and Trump… well, something is going on because she is talking loudly and that talk entails leaving the GOP.
To the extent that she is simply making noise rather than a real threat, one has to remember that she has nowhere to go. If she were to declare herself to be an Independent, she would either have to caucus with the Democrats, perhaps no one, or the supplicant cast that she just left. Given this reality, it is a bit of a wonder why she isn’t lobbying Trump directly for change. (She may actually know better.) Either way, the chatter itself is real, getting louder, and noteworthy as set out in a report by The Daily Mail:
Republican women, she says, have a finger on the pulse of the party that the ‘good ole boys’ in the party don’t. ‘I think there’s other women in our party that are really sick and tired of the way men treat Republican women,’ she said.
Yes, well – going on the statement alone, she could just as easily have left out the “Republican” label and merely noted that “women” are really sick and tired of the way men treat women” and she would be right at home with a ton of the loathed “woke” Democrats. Again, “this huge spotted cat keeps eating my face” – thing is really a bit much. Interestingly, she then goes on to give some specific examples, and those touch directly on Trump’s leadership:
‘I think there’s other women – Republican women – and I’m just giving my opinion here, who are really sick and tired of them,’ she continued. ‘And the one that really got shafted was Elise Stefanik. ‘I mean, she got screwed by Mike Johnson, and she got screwed by the White House. I’m not blaming Trump, particularly. I’m blaming the people in the White House.’
Right. Except, to the extent that Stefanik was screwed – and even that is debatable, Trump did as much as Mike Johnson did. One kind of wonders if MTG is actually complaining about Trump in code because her other complaints, such as DOGE not doing enough, and Congress not cutting the budget enough, sure make her sound like Elon Musk. The only difference is that Musk goes directly after Trump, though – to be sure, a few hundred billion make it far easier to be “brave.” Oh, also – Musk is an even bigger misogynist than the regular GOP (Splitting atoms to be sure.)
The fact that MTG is coming forward with her complaints is actually a fairly big deal even though she will vote the same way and is by no means a candidate for Democratic gain; her threats do mirror the ones that could easily divide the Republican party itself.
One hears the early signs of trouble for Georgia as she talks about the milquetoast menu of GOP candidates for the Senate:
‘It’s a very lukewarm, not exciting Republican ballot, you’re just not going to get the turnout there that’s needed, especially when we came off the last election and only won the state by 115,000 votes.’
The report goes on to mention that Sen. Jon Ossoff leads all GOP candidates by double digits at this point. Though this woman does have a finger on the pulse of the MAGA base, it’s really tough to see how a rabid far-right candidate evens the score at all. But she certainly can drive enthusiasm down, given that she has a national platform and is doing nothing but making the GOP’s misogynistic platform look that much worse.
Again, none of this is a sign of moderation except perhaps the demand to treat women better. Her biggest complaint is that the GOP isn’t sufficiently MAGA. But she really is dancing around Trump without specifically naming him as the problem. Additionally, as noted, she really has nowhere to go unless Musk actually does set up a far-right third party, though even Musk has made much less noise about doing so lately.
We do know that other alternatives to Republican women, and it looks like these four – not a group you would want to lunch with:
When Did Republican Women Get to Be So Vile as These Four?Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gabbard, Linda McMahon, and Kristi Noem are the new model of right-wing womanhood. God help us.

So Marjorie is making noise. It is not a huge deal – yet. But Trump is no longer totally out of reach of these complaints, given that he seems to back the new old boys’ network anyway. I keep saying it and saying it and saying, if the economy continues to bog down or implode, the GOP writ large will have nowhere to hide and will itself implode. At that point, the MTG type may completely go third-party, which will do nothing but benefit the Democrats.
If MTG forsakes the GOP, it could signal another cheetah moment, but with true role reversal. She will never be “woke”… but may awaken to eat.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. We work hard to get you analysis that you will not find in the mainstream media, but all media have been hit hard since the big companies have gobbled up and monopolized commentary. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

just another ‘threat’ can’t take her seriously ever
Enough to create factions within the GOP itself. If she starts talking about treatment of women, it isolates their male base that much more. Division of all forms helps the Dems and doesn’t require her to formally leave.
this is hilarious , if true. In the UK, we dont call that far right facist rag The Daily Fail for nothing. Even Wikipedia won’t allow you to cite them. Also, has Marg not been in touch with the ‘Christian’ Nationalist side at all, as this is their dream in action.
From the vileness that is Margarine Traitor Greene: “And the one that really got shafted was Elise Stefanik. ‘I mean, she got screwed by Mike Johnson, and she got screwed by the White House. I’m not blaming Trump, particularly. I’m blaming the people in the White House.’”
Who the hell IS she really blaming if not Drumpf? Drumpf was the one who suggested Stefanik for UN Ambassador only to pull it after Johnson and other GOPers made Drumpf realize her leaving the House of Representatives would threaten the Party’s threadbare majority. Any other NORMAL President–one who actually understands politics and “the game”–would’ve been well aware of how Stefanik’s departing the House would affect his planned agenda. But Drumpf doesn’t have the awareness of a freaking cucumber. While any President is more likely to pull qualified people from current “leadership” roles (whether from the House or Senate or a State’s Governor), none of them before Drumpf was ever so stupid as to put the Party’s power at risk. You don’t pull a dozen members from the House to serve important jobs and you don’t pull five members from the Senate or a few governors from their jobs, especially if there’s a risk that the replacement could come from the opposition. (That was one of my biggest concerns with the potential of a Bernie presidency because the governor of Vermont in 2016 was–and still is–a GOPer and Vermont law allows the Governor to appoint a replacement until an election can be held within six months of the vacancy and there is NO requirement that the temporary replacement needs to be from the same party, which in Bernie’s case as an Independent means there’s no “party” involved. It would’ve been the supreme irony if Bernie *had* been elected President only to find his Senate seat filled, even temporarily, by a GOPer which allowed the GOP to have a slightly larger Senate majority.)
On the other hand, remember that a Vermont republican would be viewed as a Commie-Leftist by any Texas, North Carolina or Southern Democrat!!!! I mean all of Vermont is as left as Boulder, Co. and even MORE left than Austin!
As most of the pretty educated readers here probably know, Nazi is the German acronym for National Socialist. Being a VERY angry and defiant Jew with much family in the IDF and whose patience for Palestinian heaping piles of BS ran out forever on Oct 7 (I mean, seriously! Jews don’t belong in Israel??!!! We stole “Palestinian land??!!! How ignorant of history do you HAVE to be to believe that crap??!!!!) might I suggest she join with AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida, Marc Pocan, Jamila, Mamdani, and the KING of self-hating Jews Bernie “Kapo-adjacent” Sanders, and just create the Nazi Party of America, already. I mean if your whole life is about your hatred of all Jews and wanting them wiped off the map, then just DO IT already! Let them all re-create the Nazi Party, or just start a new one. Might I suggest “The Jew Hate Party of America” with the tag line “We hate Jews. It’s WHO we are, it’s WHAT WE DO”. There now, perfect or what? And Marge would just be sssssooooo at home with these folks. And they could even have all the black people who are just as ignorant of history as the Palestinians and have no clue who Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner were, much less Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel who was with MLK on every march and almost every strategy session from 1963 on. Who needs to know what the f*%$&k they’re talking about when just hating Jews for no reason at all (don’t worry, you can choose from a whole menu of reasons to hate us) is so much fun?!!! SO there you go Marge, I have created a perfect space for you, Mazal tov! You have a home (just watch out for our space lasers…..)
It’s leopards that eat peoples’ faces. Cheetahs are just big pussycats. 🙂
