You might have thought that Donald Trump could get through just one press conference without embarrassing himself, us, and sparking yet another international incident. But you would have been wrong. Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, was not there to defend himself. Prime Minister Keir Starmer was and he attempted to smooth the situation over by saying, “He’s a friend of mine.” And of course this comes literally two weeks before Trump is scheduled to show up for an audience with the King of England in mid-September.

“Sadiq is delighted that President Trump wants to come to the greatest city in the world,” the statement read. “He’d see how our diversity makes us stronger not weaker; richer, not poorer.”

“Perhaps these are the reasons why a record number of Americans have applied for British citizenship under his Presidency,” the spokesperson added, according to the Guardian.

For reasons known best to Buckingham Palace, the King has invited Trump for a second state visit. Even Melania plans to drag her ass along on this one. That should be amusing. Last time they did one of these her wardrobe was the talk of the town, her bright yellow killer bee cloak with purple shoes and enough fabric to upholster a couch.

But hey, all eyes were on her and that is what Melania deems “success.” And Donald is certainly paving the way for a miserable return engagement. But maybe it’s not too late for the King to cancel. That really would be the best. Melania doesn’t want to go. Trump will only insult people, and a perfectly miserable time will be had by all. And now the Mayor of London is being trashed on top of it all.

Leave it to Donald to take what might have been an uneventful afternoon and turn it into another exercise in vulgarity. It’s a colloquial term, “Pee in the punch bowl” but that is about the only thing that Trump hasn’t done when out and about socially. And so don’t be surprised if he would do something like that. The more his dementia grows the less his impulse control is under check.

  1. It’s just more psychological projection by Trumpler: he’s actually saying “I’ve done a terrible job, I’m a nasty person.” One of these days, someone he’s insulted is going to turn on him in public, and maybe it will take a Brit to do it. You can bet your ass that Charles III would just love to …
