I’m comforted to know that Jake Tapper is now burning up the phone wires because the president has proven himself to be totally gone mentally, so gone in fact, that he forgot who appointed Jerome Powell head of the Federal Reserve in 2017. Oh wait, then it wasn’t Joe Biden, now was it? No, Donald Trump appointed Powell, only he doesn’t remember it and he made a complete ass of himself publicly this morning displaying that very fact in front of the press. Never mind about Tapper, there’ll be zero investigation here, now. When it’s Trump’s eff up, that’s fine. No problemo. It’s only Biden that we write exposes on elaborate conspiracy theories about. If it’s Trump, he could urinate on the carpet and it would be fine. No cognitive impairment there.

Gone. Simply gone.

Meanwhile, Trump keeps waffling on whether to fire Powell, and well he should, because markets are tumbling and a legal showdown is imminent if he does.
Speaking to the press from the Oval Office, Trump falsely claimed that former President Joe Biden was the one responsible for putting Powell “in” his office. Trump appointed Powell in 2017.
When reporters asked him whether he would fire Powell, Trump didn’t give a direct answer, attacking the chairman and the panel of governors. He said that he “could” do it and noted that he spoke to Republican lawmakers about the matter on Tuesday night and that they sent their support. […]
“While the lawmakers voiced support for the move, which would likely roil financial markets and lead to a consequential legal showdown, Trump has not made a final decision and could change his mind, according to the official who requested anonymity to discuss a private conversation,” said Bloomberg.
The markets immediately reacted with the Dow Jones falling. Bloomberg noted the “S&P 500 quickly erased a modest gain and was down 0.4% as of 11:22 a.m. in New York, about 1% below its all-time high.”
Every time this man opens his mouth it is a rambling mish mash, jumping from issue to issue, and babbling. “Worst inflation in history under Biden.” Um….have you looked at the stats about Herbert Hoover lately? Not that it matters. Shifting blame and insulting people are all that Trump knows. Otherwise, his cranium is completely empty.

Regarding the comment from DJOmega, I’m pretty sure Powell already did publicly say that tRump doesn’t have the authority to fire him.
Who will he nominate to replace him? Catturd?
25th Amendment time.
