Interesting when Donald Trump steps out of his carefully orchestrated bubble, where he is heroic and beloved, the Chosen One of everybody from God on down. When it comes to the average person in the street, or in a stadium, the reactions are different. Trump was at the FIFA World Cup yesterday (amazing how he finds time for every sporting event in the world and plenty of golf, but his 90 deals in 90 days fell completely through.) FIFA has an office in Trump Tower, by the way.

Trump can’t argue that these are left-wing libtards. This is the international community. The fact of the matter is that Trump is far more despised outside of this country than within it.

Of course he doesn’t want to go. It’s all about him. Nobody else had a victory here, due to their own skill, this is just another photo op for Trump.

This is our *president* universally loathed.
Trump and company get booed. This is what they were thinking.

And now it’s Monday and back to the bubble where Trump is universally worshipped. The problem with that is that it’s so difficult to maintain. Literally, the minute that Trump gets a question from a reporter who isn’t Brian Glenn or some other sympathizer, the bubble is burst and Trump has to deal with reality.
And today is when we’re supposed to find out if Dan Bongino is still working for the FBI. Trump said over the weekend he met with Bongino and “he’s in good shape” — whatever that means. In good shape meaning he’s not leaving or being fired? We know it’s not Pam Bondi who is going anywhere.
As always, stay tuned. The next crazy happenstance in Trump world is right around the corner.

The international community has been through hell due to the rise of authoritarian dictators. They know one when they see one.
You beat me to the punch writing about this. It’s even worse than you spell out. It’s common for a head of state to hand out the trophy at these FIFA “Club” World Cup (not the actual World Cup – a much bigger event) championships BUT it’s just a few seconds. Walk up with the trophy, hand it over and exit the stage so the team can be the center of attention.
Well, as your article says when it comes to Trumpty as far as he’s concerned it’s all about HIM. Fuck the players and their moment of glory. He not only refused to leave, he insisted on hoisting the trophy with the team captain. And STILL wouldn’t leave riight away. I read an article about how while their coach is apparently a Trump fan the players feel differently. They also know the custom for a trophy presentation and THEIR reactions ranged from ‘WFT is going on?’ to ‘Why won’t this asshole get the f**k off the stage like he’s supposed to. So WE can celebrate our moment?’
No douht Trumpty heard the boos and it pissed him off mightily. So, he decided to sh*t all over things. If it couldn’t be a wonderful moment for HIM then by god he’d do all he could to make sure it was RUINED for everyone else. Including and especially the players.
Trumpler cares about the booing, as any self-loving narcissist would, but he can ignore it and carry on inflicting himself on even a hostile crowd because he knows the video will make a good clip for Fux News, with a suitable soundtrack (massed cheers, shouts of “We love you sir”) dubbed in. It’s all showbiz folks.
