You can learn a lot these days by going over to the White House Official X Account. What you’re about to see rises to levels of sycophancy rarely seen. You will find yourself questioning, “Who is the target audience for this drivel?” The obvious answer is MAGA. And the obvious motive is to get MAGA to thinking reverentially about their Marmelade Monarch and to remember that he is, in fact, the monarch. Let’s begin with Howard Lutnick as the warm up act before Lara Trump asks the big man the Big Question about his legacy. Bear in mind now, today is July 13, the anniversary of God Almighty saving his Chosen One to save America (forgive me for not outfitting readers of this site with motion sickness bags. I’m ready to throw up on the keyboard myself.)

“With blood running down his face.” With a few scratches on his face, sustained from shrapnel flying through the air. Which also dinged a few motorcycle cops, but that story was buried. When Christopher Wray mentioned shrapnel, he became an instant pariah.

And now we get to the main event. Listen close now.
.@POTUS on his legacy: "I really believed our country was going down for the fall. I don't know if it ever could've come back. It was very close to the edge — and I really would like to be known as the man that saved our country." 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/xQQ2tDXalo

“A good person.” OMFG. A good person but for a few flaws like:
- Raping Katie Johnson when she was 13 (and how many others?)
- Assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll (and how many others?)
- Walking in on the young girls at the Miss Teenage America pageant (and Miss Universe)
- Being a serial philanderer, who in the words of Jeffrey Epstein, “liked to f*** his friends’ wives”
- Having sex with Stormy Daniels (and how many others?) when his wife was caring for their infant son — and beyond.
We could keep going but you’ve heard it all. And that’s just a description of this “good person’s” personal life. In his business life, he did everything from canceling an appearance by Sammy Davis, Jr., because of his racist proclivities to ripping off people who attended Trump University, to defrauding the laborers who worked on his buildings in New York, to denying housing to Black people. And we could still go on and on.
Trump will be known as the man that conned the magas into believing he us a descent person. The rest of us tried to warn them. He will not be remembered well.

If Donald Trump is remembered as “a good person” I shudder to think who will be remembered as an amoral, sociopathic, dishonest, grifting, exploitative bastard. I really do not want to know.

He is so in love with himself, it is pathetic! The damage that man and his Merry Band of Grifters have caused this country, no, the whole world, is incalculable. His legacy will be the man who managed to tear it all down after 250 years of an “imperfect experiment.” We survived without him all those years so how is it happening so fast that he’s throwing it all away? “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” (attributed to Edmund Burke) So we are those “good men and women,” and we cannot forget that now. It’s going to take every one of us who is able to stand up against this sick, mean, hateful, decrepit old, old, OLD man. And those of us unable or unavailable to stand up must SPEAK up, which is just as important. Call your legislators. Call EVERYBODY’S legislators! Write letters and opinion pieces and heartfelt comments everywhere. We are THE PEOPLE and we’d better start acting like it!
He was a murderer and a LIAR from the beginning and when he speaks lies, he speaks his native language. Jesus describing the Devil in the gospel of John 8:42-47.
I’m in spitting distance og 8- years old, so I won’t be around to see any of this. But I would be very pleased if his name were to become a replacement for the names of historical people who almost certainly did NOT do what they were remembered for – people like Nero, Richard III, and Marie Antoinette.
I was starting to write to you to ask you what Nero, Richard III, and Marie Antoinette did not do, but for which they are remembered doing, but I caught myself and did my own easy research online: What is XXX remembered for that he actually did not do.
I guessed the answer correctly for Nero and Marie. I am unfamiliar with Richard, so it was news to me.
However, I do not understand your reference to Trump. What has Trump not done, for the doing of which you want him to be (mistakenly) remembered?
Thanks, Underwriter.
