We live in a world where The Handmaid’s Tale may not be dystopian fiction for too much longer. There are *religious* people who think that that’s a fine way to go. The fellow that you’re about to hear doesn’t stop at denigrating women, however. He also takes an anti-immigrant stance and if you don’t worship GeeSuss the way that he does, then you don’t belong in the world. At least not in any kind of a meaningful capacity. Maybe you can be off in the shadows doing work for the one, true breed of political cat that is viable: Christian American Men.

I personally wouldn’t want this guy to be in charge of the dog pound. He’s the kind where you don’t know if you want to laugh or cry but you know you want to leave the room, stat.
He didn’t say “white” though, so maybe there is some hope for this guy. But I don’t think so. I think he probably does hate Clarence Thomas as well, although why? Thomas is certainly voting the right-wing position.
It does behoove us to keep an eye on these people. As stunned as I was when Trump won in 2016, when I started to look at some of the tapes on Right Wing Watch I realized that had I been aware this kind of thing was going on, it would not have surprised me so much when Trump won.
The fringe types of the GOP have always been out there. They just came together and ascended in 2016, the religious fanatics, the Nazis/KKK faction, the gun nuts, the entire lot of them. And most of us were lulled into a liberal stupor after eight years of Obama. We were thinking, “Well, will we have the first Jewish president or the first woman,” thinking that whomever would get the Democratic nomination was a shoo in, considering how horrific the Republican candidates were.
HA! That was our mistake. We completely misread the room. So if you think these fringe crazies are not worth listening to, I’ve just explained my reason for listening to them. We have to know who’s out there. Forewarned is forearmed.
I’m sure he means conservative, too. I guess it hasn’t occurred to him that precisely those people have been in control for most of the past 200 years an they have gotten us where we are today. Actually, on second thought, at least we had compromise and some progressive things accomplished. Apparently, to him that sort of compromise is unacceptable.
