There’s a saying from jolly old England, “begin as you intend to proceed.” Maybe somebody should have said that to Elon Musk as he began to get his America Party off of the ground. We wrote here yesterday that Musk confirmed that one America Party filing with the FEC was indeed a fake. And apparently it was not alone. I’ve sought confirmation of what’s going on with the America Party and WLBT reports that
As of Sunday morning, there were multiple political parties listed in the Federal Election Commission database that had been formed in the hours since Musk’s Saturday X post with versions of “America Party” of “DOGE” or “X” in the name, or Musk listed among people affiliated with the entity.
But none appeared to be authentic, listing contacts for the organization as email addresses such as ” [email protected] ″ or untraceable Protonmail addresses.
Musk on Sunday spent the morning on X taking feedback from users about the party and indicated he’d use the party to get involved in the 2026 midterm elections.
We can only conjecture that Musk will put together a valid filing and move the America Party along. It seems irresponsible to me that he would announce the formation of the party without taking care of the rudimentary formalities that accompany such a momentous task, but maybe this is how the party itself will be run, slipshod and haphazard.
The only other certainty that seems to exist at this point in time is that Musk is at Trump’s throat and he’s not seeing eye to eye with the Secretary of the Treasury much either. Watch for this to get curiouser and curiouser.
Meanwhile, Donald spent his weekend eating ice cream in Florida while more Texans died and at least 14 young girls still remain missing. Lead by example, right Donald? In fact one thing can be said about Trump’s *leadership* style: a real leader would do well to study Trump’s doings and then make sure to do the dead opposite. That would be the foundation for doing a job well.
betcha he didn’t register domain names either. just stick it on the launch pad, light the fuse, then after it blows up figure out what needs to be adjusted.
The Muskrat party could turn out to be a boon for those of us hoping to salvage some aspect of our former country after Cheeto gets his wings clipped. If this party actually survives until our next election, people dissatisfied with Cheeto but unwilling to vote for a democrat have a choice. This will undoubtadly siphon votes away from the gop. A few years of this and we may be able to realize, at least partially, Grover Norquists dream of drowning government in a bathtub. In case you wondered about the partial part, I’m talking about the gop.
