Yes, we’re going to do it again. We’re going to watch Donald Trump behave in such an abysmally stupid manner that if Joe Biden (or anybody else) ever did this, it would be wall to wall coverage on Fox News, 24/7 for weeks. The thing that sets Trump apart is that he is blissfully unaware of how moronic he sounds. That’s a gift. And since he’s in safe territory, namely Fox News, he feels he can just let a stream of consciousness riff out, like farts in court, and no matter what he says, it will be alright.

Maybe all diplomatic communiques to Japan should be addressed, “Occupant, Imperial Palace,” or “Occupant, Kantei.” I mean, it will make things easier for Donald to remember, right? Right.

An authoritarian party with an utter moron atop it.

I’m sure that all things being equal, Bartiromo would at least like for something to sound plausible and not utterly absurd. What was the original deal supposed to be? 90 deals in 90 days? And he’s got one quasi deal in five months. I refer to the *trade agreement* with the UK (which Trump labeled the EU because he doesn’t know the difference) which he dropped on the ground at the G7 and then Keir Starmer picked it up. We’ve got a trade surplus with the UK, have had for many years, so it really isn’t a trade agreement like what Trump has been boasting about creating with 90 countries. But whatever it is, it’s all that he’s got and the other 89.5 deals which have been promised are long overdue.

Maybe Mr. Japan knows where they are? Is this him?

    • Not so old joke, but “How do you spell fraud? T-R-U-M-P.”

Update for the old Oscar Meyer jingle:
“My president has a first name, it’s L-Y-I-N-G.
My president has a second name, it’s F-R-A-U-D.
Oh, I love to hate him every day,
And if you ask me why, I’ll say,
Cause Lying Fraud has way of spreading B-O-L-O-G-N-A.”

(Admittedly, that last line could use some tightening but, it works.)

  1. The person pictured in posing trunks may well have been Mr. Japan at one time, according to the following information I gleaned from using Google Lens on the picture:

    AI Overview

The image features Shigeru Sugita, a legendary Japanese bodybuilding champion.

He is widely considered one of the most influential figures in Japanese bodybuilding.

Sugita made history in 1976 by becoming the first Japanese bodybuilder to win the overall championship at the NABBA Mr. Universe competition.

He was particularly known for his impressive calves, which even garnered admiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

After retiring from competition, Sugita opened his own gym in Kyobashi, Osaka, which became a prominent training center for bodybuilders and athletes.

Shigeru Sugita passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 78.
