It would have been better for Donald if Mother Nature had decided to hurl down a few lightning bolts and unleashed torrents of rain. At least that way he wouldn’t be left looking stupid and embarrassed. But the way that things turned out, what can he possibly say? The people have spoken nationwide. They’ve turned out en masse in cities across the nation whereas in Washington, D.C., where all the action was supposed to be…..crickets. 200,000 people were *expected* to show up and how much of that expectation was fantasy and how much based on actual interest shown is not known at this time.

Which one of them looks more miserable, Donald or Melania? She must be ready to jump out of her own skin having been seen with him three times this week, at the Les Miserables performance, the White House picnic and now this. I’ll bet we don’t see hide nor hair of Mel for at least three or four weeks. She might not even show up to the 4th of July.

The public at large really gives a rat’s ass about this pilot’s love life. But there you have it, June 14, 2025. The “First Couple” look depressed and aren’t even bothering to hide it. Or, let’s amend it, he looks pissed, she looks depressed.

I would be remiss if I didn’t share this with you: numerous comments are showing up online saying things like, “He didn’t win the last election,” in response to the massive No Kings In America turnout. We’re not going to open up that can of worms and suggest that the election was stolen. But I feel very confident in saying, on these facts, if the election was held today, Trump would lose.

I guess the electorate got amnesia or something. I will never understand the rationale of the electorate in electing this total clown, by 1.5% or by any percent. But just the fact that this sentiment is being bandied about tells you everything you need to know:

  1. Trump is hated;
  2. Even his MAGA hordes did not show up in D.C.;
  3. He looks like a fool;
  4. The victory he so wanted today was snatched from him. Tomorrow, it’s Canada, foreign policy, business as usual. And the game show host has nothing, not one thing, to bring to the table.

Maybe America didn’t realize that before but mark my words, in the coming days and weeks, as the issue with Iran heats up, America will come to regret its choice at the ballot box last November. We are already seeing that. Expect to see more of it. The honeymoon is OVER.

  2. If the trope of “The election was stolen from us.” hadn’t been so comprehensively over-used by magats, it could legitimately used by our side; thanks to the gerrymandering and outright vote suppression carried out by republicans.

    • The gerrymandering and voter suppression is of such a magnitude that it can affect one or two percent of votes in an election. And in this polarized day and age, that is enough. I give you Exhibit “A” the populist shitshow that we live in.

      • The problem with missing ballots, even if they’re only a few, is that as polarized as we are every freaking ballot counts like never before. God, I hope this isn’t the new normal, erosion of trust in our elections system.

  3. On the other hand, No Kings day was a smashing success. We need to thank the doofus dictator for creating a new national day of remembrance. For years to come this day will remind people that he actually threatened citizens for peacefully protesting, and they gave him a collective single-finger salute.

  4. Next stop, Canada, for the G7 meeting; Trumpler won’t have a nice time there either. He has so alienated all America’s allies that none of the actual real-life leaders gathered to discuss important matters will pay him any mind at all. They’ll either ignore whatever he says or contradict him. The USA has trashed its leadership status in less than 6 months, and will never regain it as long as the Republican party exists.
