Granted, we live in abnormal times. That’s a given. But even in this day and age, it is noteworthy that the Secretary of State would go out of his way to publicly wish the Russian people a happy Russia Day, when Russia is actively involved in bombing the hell out of one of America’s allies. Yes, we’re aware of the fact that Trump being back in office makes for unclear global alliances. We get that. But et tu, Marco? You’ve sold out as well?

The tweet ends “opportunity to reaffirm the United States desire for constructive engagement with the Russian Federation to bring about a durable peace between Russia and Ukraine. It is our hope that peace will foster more mutually beneficial relations between our countries.” And for their part, what is Russia doing to achieve said peace? We’re so glad you asked.
At a time when Putin is launching one of the deadliest waves of missile attacks on Ukraine, targeting hospitals, children’s schools, and power stations… our government is sending them congratulatory messages?
It’s insulting. It’s dangerous. It’s deliberate.
And it’s exactly what I warned you was coming.
They’re not hiding anymore.
Just days ago, I exposed the deep Kremlin ties running through Trump’s inner circle:
- Darren Beattie, now working directly under Rubio at the State Department, has well-documented links to authoritarian movements and far-right extremism. He’s no stranger to Russian propaganda.
- Steve Witkoff, Trump’s longtime real estate ally, has financial interests connected to oligarchs and offshore shadow capital that thrives under authoritarian regimes.
- The “backchannel diplomacy” I’ve told you about for years — the kind that treats Ukraine like a pawn, democracy like a nuisance, and Putin like a partner — is now policy.
We are watching the final stages of the MAGA-Russia pipeline emerge into full public view.
Meanwhile, in the Oval Office…
Minutes ago — pens still wet from signing a slate of anti-EV resolutions — Donald Trump launched into a jaw-dropping riff that perfectly exposes where his head and his heart really are.
“You know, Russia — people forget — Putin’s country lost 51 million people in the war. Fifty-one million! And somehow they’re the bad guys while everybody loves Germany and Japan? We have to look at that, folks.”
Let that sink in.
As Ukraine burns and Los Angeles streets fill with Marines, the President of the United States stood in the Oval Office essentially asking why the world stands against Putin’s dictatorship, and wondering aloud if we’ve been too hard on Moscow.
In the same breath, he bragged about the upcoming display of military power for his birthday:
“It’s going to be beautiful, the biggest parade you’ve ever seen…”
And here’s the part they don’t want you to notice:
Instead of reporting on the real story — Trump deploying U.S. troops against civilians while his Secretary of State celebrates Putin — the mainstream media is busy chasing whatever distraction Trump throws at them.
Today, it’s JFK files.
Yep. That’s what CNN, Fox, and the networks are obsessing over — the same tired “revelations” that add nothing new.
Why?
Because Trump knows how to bait them.
He floods the zone with noise while he escalates the crisis — and they fall for it every time.
They’re not talking about troops in LA.
They’re not talking about Putin’s missile barrage.
They’re not talking about Rubio bowing to Moscow.
Distilled down, the most important issues of our day are not getting the coverage that they deserve and that’s because the mainstream media is petrified of Trump. It’s an item of personal annoyance and bewilderment to me that stories I post here about the persecution of reporters and the destruction of venerated news outlets like the Washington Post don’t seem to get the attention that they deserve. That both saddens and alarms me.
There is a direct connection between what is reported in this country and what people think the issues are. We live in what I’ll call a media grey out. A lot of information and opinion is on mainstream outlets but not nearly what needs to be there. Billionaire oligarchs control what should be the organs of truth in this country and if somebody on board — this week it was ABC correspondent Terry Moran — dares to do their job and speak truth to power, WHAM! Pink slip time, don’t let the door hit you in the butt.
I am hoping for a sea change in political reporting, much as we saw a sea change in how movies were made in the 1970’s when a lot of young, new talent took the reins and revitalized a cinema that was in partial stagnation under the old studio system. And we do see signs of that kind of an institutional shift. There is a lot of first class independent journalism, Talking Points Memo, Popular Information, Meidas Touch and other outlets. Political blogs like this one amplify these voices and bring a message of truth from all corners of the internet. At least, that’s the attempt we make and why we are here.
Let’s continue to rally to defeat Trump’s right-wing silo and its power so as to take back control in 2026, because those are our adversaries, not just Trump/MAGA but the information ecosystem which has made it possible for something as twisted and dark as MAGA to thrive. It won’t be easy but then again, never forget, we only lost by 1.5% last time. We can and will be victorious.
First of all to Trump – Germany and Japan transformed themselves into functioning democracies and abandoned ambitions to invade and control other countries by force. Russia was a brutal dictatorship when WWII started and on Hilter’s side. They only joined the Allied Powers when Hitler attacked them. AFTER the war they became an even more brutal dictatorship and expanded their reach by taking over other countries by force!
As for warm wishes for Russia? Well, if the warmth is say that of the hottest fires of HELL then fine. Trump and all who enable him deserve to roast in agony for eternity in the hottest fires Satan can create!
Rubio is a cocksucking little punk. If he ever darkens the door of a penitentiary, as he is so eager to consign innocent people to that hell, he’d be somebody’s bitch before the sun went down. FACT.
