That’s a first. You don’t usually see the governor of a state, let alone a massive state like California and the world’s 5th largest economy, call the sitting president of the United States a “stone cold liar” but we live in the Era of Trump and that is precisely who and what Trump is. I’m glad to see Newsom back in fighting mode and not chatting with the likes of Steve Bannon on his podcast. This is going to get Newsom somewhere, courting the likes of Bannon and Charlie Kirk is an exercise in futility. Fighting fire with fire is a good way to go, talking to MAGA shills is not.
Newsom: We talked for 20 minutes, this issue never came up. I kept trying to talk about LA, he wanted to talk about all these other issues. He never once brought up the national guard. He’s a stone cold liar

Of course Trump never spoke about the National Guard. He didn’t want to send the National Guard to California because it was warranted, he wanted to do it because it was theatrical. So definitely he’s not going to mention it. And it goes without saying that Trump is oblivious to the repercussions of calling out the National Guard with discussing it with the governor of the state whose National Guard has just been commandeered.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said California would sue the Trump administration on Monday over the deployment of the National Guard, describing it as an “unconstitutional act” in an interview with MSNBC late Sunday. “Commandeering a state’s National Guard without consulting the Governor of that state is illegal and immoral,” he wrote on X. He has formally requested that the government rescind the deployment in Los Angeles County. President Donald Trump mobilized 2,000 National Guard members to intervene in protests against immigration sweeps this weekend.
At this time about 300 troops of the 2,000 have been deployed, according to the Washington Post, and Marines at 29 Palms are also on standby. As I’ve said before, the frustrated filmmaker in Trump is doing this. He’s got a chance to do an epic here, his version of War Of A Nation, and he intends to do it.
Newsom is right, there’s no working with Trump. And this situation is only going to worsen. The true tragedy here is that the corporate media is hedging its bets, so as to not offend Trump, and the right-wing media is running wild and so once again, we have two different versions of reality running side by side.
Keep your eye on June 14, which is Trump’s birthday. He might pull some crazy stunt in and around the ICE protests which are happening. This is what Lev Parnas is predicting and Lev knows how Trump operates. He should.
It will be interesting to see who wins this liar’s contest. Knowing what an epic liar Trump is, I’m positive that Newsom is telling the simple truth. But Trump will now double and triple down and the lie fest should be epic.

Oh noes…a lawsuit.
Here’s a thought: Newsom needs to order HIS state’s guard back to barracks. Assert Trump had no lawful authority to order the California National Guard to LA and threaten courts martial against anyone who disobeys Newsom’s lawful order.
