The ghosts of Butler, Pennsylvania are claiming their own today. Here’s yet another news story about what really happened there last summer and what did not. J.D. Vance had a slip twixt the cup and the lip and that may sink his ship with respect to Donald Trump. You’ll see that video below. Trump is not that thrilled with Vance right now anyway. Vance is very close to Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and the Silicon Valley tech broligarchs. Vance did do a kind of weak tea endorsement of Trump when the shit finally hit the fan on Thursday and Friday between Musk and Trump.
You see that there’s an effort to mollify Trump and flatter him, but there is zero comment about whether Musk is right or wrong. Vance’s ignoring the entire issue, which is really ignoring the elephant in the room. I’ve never seen a better example of that cliche than this. Now back to Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Nearly took a bullet?” You mean that there was no “violent bullet that struck my husband” that Melania wrote about the next day, in apparent contemplation of how awful her and Barron’s life would be without Donald? Oh, there is going to be holy hell to pay for this, J.D.
This is a one/two punch and it makes you wonder if it’s deliberate or just a Freudian slip? Vance knows Trump wasn’t “shot in the ear.” There’s no scar. There’s no missing tissue. There’s no deafness, which is a logical result of a projectile travelling at that speed that close to the head. This was all scientifically sifted through at the time of the incident.
And Vance knows Trump didn’t get shot and Trump knows he wasn’t shot. But he cowed the media into reporting that he was “shot in the ear by a bullet.” And they all dutifully followed along, sheep that they are, rather than challenge Trump.
Trump’s bleeding, such that it was, was caused most likely by shrapnel — just like the four police officers situated next to him. They sustained minor injuries from shrapnel. And they probably didn’t go around bragging that they had had a part of their ears blown off, but then they weren’t running for election on the Republican ticket and so tall tale telling may not come so easily to them.
In all events, this is very intriguing indeed that the shooting at Butler is now being revisited and the facts are coming out. And out of J.D. Vance’s mouth, no less. I can’t wait to watch him walk this one back.
Or consider this: Maybe Vance is already making his move and he’s siding with Musk. Musk is rattling sabers now about forming a new political party, but in fact he might back Vance — particularly if Vance would decide to oppose Trump now, maybe even try to use the 25th Amendment on Trump.
Musk might be willing to pay quite a lot to topple Trump and how better than through enlisting the aid of his own vice president? Just spitballing here. But it’s not spitballing at all to say that Peter Thiel bought Vance and Thiel and Musk are as thick as the thieves that they are.
Food for thought. Let’s just leave it at that for the moment, food for thought.
