It’s so interesting how the nomenclature of politics changes as the relationships in politics change. Back in the day when Elon Musk and Donald Trump were on the same page, swaying to the same 80’s music at Mar-a-Lago, Musk was all for Trump’s excesses. He claimed that they were necessary and good. Can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, right? But as of now, Musk has changed his tune and remarkably it sounds like those woke leftist economists who said that Trump’s economic whims were going to drive us towards a recession, if not into a second Great Depression. There it is, the “R” word and nobody is trumpeting it louder than Elon Musk.

There you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. And then Elon really goes for the gusto.
Musk also took aim at one of the president’s most-hated political maneuvers: impeachment. Responding to another post about who would win in a fight between Musk and Trump — which also calls for Trump to be impeached and for Vice President JD Vance to replace him — Musk simply responded: “Yes.”
Trump was impeached twice by a Democratic-controlled House during his first term, but was acquitted both times by the Senate.
Musk — who’s been launching back and forth attacks with Trump all day Thursday — has never been a big fan of Trump’s sweeping tariff plans, and publicly ridiculed Peter Navarro, one of the public faces of Trump’s trade war, while he was still a government employee.
The tariffs are set to have huge implications for Musk’s car company Tesla, because of the rising costs of materials and manufacturing abroad. The car company’s stocks took a dive following the tariff announcements, and were also impacted by Musk’s growing absence from the company during his time as Trump’s special adviser while leading the Department of Government Efficiency.
That said, Musk has called Tesla the “least affected” car company from the tariffs, due to supply chains being split between Europe, China and North America. But the Tesla CEO hasn’t shied away from bashing Trump’s trade advisers in the past — even labeling Navarro a “moron.”
Navarro is a moron. Basically everybody concurs on that. But just look at what has happened in one week. This time last Friday, Musk was on his way out the door after having served the government in the status of a temporary employee and Trump was assuring him and us that Elon wasn’t really gone, he would always be a big part of the Trump administration.
The part I like the best is Musk calling Trump a liar — which he is, just as Navarro is a moron. Specifically, Musk said he did not “know the inner workings of the OBBBA” as Trump claimed that Musk did. So who do we believe here, the Ketamine-fueled nariccist or the Adderall-addled dementia patient?
And I would gently call your attention to the fact that Musk calling for Trump’s impeachment is no small thing, and J.D. Vance will be only too happy to see Trump go while he himself is elevated to the top spot by his techbro oligarch pals. Make no mistake, plenty of midnight oil is being burned while these conversations are taking place. Donald’s ears must be on fire at night. Maybe that’s why he blogs at all manner of bizarre hours, because his ears are burning and when the Adderall runs low the paranoia and the voices start. Only lashing out with his tiny thumbs gives him relief. Just a speculation.

I think much of the reason Tesla is doing so poorly, is that is how people are showing their disapproval of Musk’s actions with DOGE. I know the tariffs will affect their sales, but it will also affect other car makers. How this plays out and ends will be interesting to watch.
