Yes, I’m serious. Part of your application to become a Federal employee now includes four essay questions if you have a college degree or higher. One of them directly deals with tRump. Y’all, they’re *outrageous*. I checked this through Snopes, and yup, it’s true. Let me show you, shall I? Loyalty tests have officially arrived in the federal hiring process. The Trump administration just unveiled a so-called “Merit Hiring Plan”, which includes a quiz asking job applicants to name their favorite Trump policy or executive order. Yes, seriously. You’re expected to write an essay explaining your “loyalty” to Trump.
But here’s the truth: the oath federal workers take is to the Constitution, not to a president, not to a political party, and definitely not to a list of executive orders.
If you’re applying, remember: it’s your choice how to respond. Once hired the law requires you to swear to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It does not require personal loyalty to Trump.
Oh my, my, my. You have to answer them. I would seriously feel like I’m back in high school, to write ESSAYS for a JOB APPLICATION. Get outta here! I’d be looking somewhere else for employment. Oh, and it gets even better!
In late May 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration announced a “Merit Hiring Plan” for the federal bureaucracy. Soon after its announcement, critics claimed the hiring process was actually not merit-based but a “loyalty test” to the Trump administration in which applicants would be asked to write essays about their favorite Trump policy. We looked closely at the U.S. Office for Personnel Management’s (OPM) memorandum titled “Merit Hiring Plan” and found specific language asking applicants to write an essay detailing administration policies that were “significant” to them and executive orders they would implement. While the question does not overtly ask people to declare their loyalty, it does ask them to discuss Trump’s policies that they would support and implement.
Sooooo yea, essay questions, AND loyalty test. Yea, it’s not specific, but come on now. Maybe there are people who will not notice this, but with all that’s going on, I’ll bet a LOT of people will! I certainly would! And I would NOT be able to answer that question because there aren’t any! Let me go ahead and show you these questions. I know I’ll run long, but for all the ranting I’m doing, ha, I wanted to show them to you.

Yeee-fcking-ha. (Yes, I’m feeling salty today. Apologies for the language.) Aren’t those a gas? I can say I would be able to answer two of the four, but *only* two, especially if I’m not being hired for DOGE. If I were, then it would be three. But that Executive Order question? Nahhhh. Not happening. I don’t have that sort of ridiculous loyalty, so I’m sure I’d “fail”. It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest to “fail”, either. If you want to apply, of course, be my guest.
