As we come to the end of Memorial Day. it’s time to pay a final tribute. If you’ve never been to the Evening Parade at Marine Barracks 8 & I if you’re in DC during the season make the effort. It ends the same way each time. The first time I saw it live before it was half over I had a lump in my throat and was blinking back tears. I’m doing so again just writing this. So I’ll shut up and ask you to see for yourself why. And tomorrow, and the next day and the day after (and each day) think about this. And since as we know all is not well, resolve yourself to work to again to ensure “all is well”, and those under those tombstones and flags can again “safely rest.”
Semper Fidelis

Semper Fideles, indeed. My brother used to play that, but in a different location. It doesn’t matter how many times you hear it. It will get you every time. Memorial Day. We remember.
