Leave it to Fox News and the insufferable [Judge] Jeanine Pirro to make an utter caricature out of what would have otherwise been the decent career of an honorable public servant. After all, Pirro is a woman who first served as a judge in tiny Westchester County, New York, and then was elected District Attorney – one known as a tireless defender of domestic abuse victims and the elderly. In a bitter twist of irony, it was actually then-Senator Joe Biden who was also one of the very first federal politicians to jump to the cause of domestic violence and victimized women. It would otherwise be laughable that Pirro pinned the next phase of her career to the MAGA-Fox News express, such that she’s continually defending the man who is credibly accused by dozens of women to be a predator, Trump has been found to be civilly liable for rape. Such as it is, Pirro has no one to blame but herself for turning a truly inspiring career (One very much appreciated by girldads everywhere), into a woman famous for a presumed “box of wine” ever alongside, the near-frantic defense of the politically indefensible, and now the entitled shreak of a woman who might otherwise actually be one of the few qualified nominees that Trump has put forth. (Qualified as to background and experience, not present judgment and politicization of U.S. Attorney positions).
Trump has nominated Pirro to serve as the U.S. Attorney for Washington DC – Trump’s first nominee didn’t quite work out tldr. Pirro now understands what it means to be a public servant in a post-DOGE world. Absent specific facts set out below, one might initially believe that it is ridiculous that federal employees are expected to personally pay for bottled water delivery to the office. But in a post-DOGE, Musk, Trump administration, one in which park rangers and weather forecasters are looking for work, no one is going to cry for Judge Jeanine.
Besides, it sounds like she’s crying plenty for herself. According to a report in Daily Kos:
Former Fox News screecher Jeanine Pirro, a onetime judge who Trump tapped to be the top prosecutor in D.C. after his first pick Ed Martin flamed out, filmed an absolutely unhinged video of herself complaining about the $7-per-month “water club” at the U.S. Attorney’s office. She’s unhappy that employees have to chip in to pay for their own water delivery service and she’s annoyed that the water wasn’t delivered yesterday.
And to the video we go and I will see you below:
Again, in any other world, we would all leap to the defense of federal employees and their right to have decent drinking water in the office. But this is “this” world and in this world, it is conservatives like Pirro who demonize federal employees such that a Republican Congress would effectively “punish” these very people who Pirro rightly touts as those defending victims of violent crime. IF Pirro let us fix it, damn it we would – except we know who we’d face as foe in that battle and Speaker Johnson along with Trump have already expressed their contempt-based position. Do not cry to us, Jeanine.
Additionally, perhaps only we understand that Pirro’s whine about USAID money for “Seasame Street in Iraq” might be one of the best foreign investments the United States has ever made, one educating kids such that they appreciate diversity, women’s rights, and the West generally. There are many ways to fight terrorism and this one costs nearly nothing. Democrats also fully appreciate that we actually can afford to send “Sesame Street” over to Iraq, water service to hardworking federal prosecutors, a new aircraft carrier, and universal healthcare – it only requires us to sufficiently tax the likes of Elon Musk and others who will not invest another dollar in keeping the federal prosecutor’s office an enviable position.
So this is all a tough situation. Pirro would otherwise be a decent choice for the U.S. Attorney position, certainly qualified on paper. Federal employees should be treated with respect by the richest government ever to exist on this planet. But that respect starts with people like Pirro, Johnson, Trump, et. al. not demonizing the very employees and work in which Pirro now finds herself.
No one is saying that the staff at the federal prosecutors office should have to pay to be in a water club. We only have two demands: 1) Let us fix it, please and 2) Once “fixed” and budget priorities are aligned, stop bitching about other federal employees whom we helped, and the Democrats who agreed that Pirro had a very good point.
Odd. Because there would be one other thing that we’d like to have Pirro recall and that is that Democrats share her passion for women’s rights such that this entire story could be written very differently in another world. The whole loop is almost enough to make one want to pound a drink. One wishes we had a big box of wine…
Sigh. We only have whine.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

Once upon a time she might have been qualified but those days are LONG gone. As for paying seven bucks a month for bottled water I say boo-effing-hoo “judge” Jeanine. What I’m sure she’s actually pissed about is NOT bottled water and having to pay a paltry sum for it. No, she’s pissed that there isn’t a cooler dispensing giant boxes of wine! At taxpayer expense of course.
Isn’t it ironic that those that rail against the federal government are so eager to take undeserved high paying government jobs? Maybe she wanted those airplane miniature bottles of vodka.
As I specifically said, her politicization puts her qualifications in doubt. I specifically said “On paper” – so I am aware of the issue, obviously.
So does she want to be a celebrity, or a public servant?
Choose one, you can’t be both.
Isn’t Nancy Grace available?
