Yes, the federal government does have the power to deport immigrants who are not here legally. Of course, the whole process presupposes that the immigrants will be sent back to their homeland, though the Trump administration makes no suppositions on anything, including whether to send someone to a country in which they know no one, don’t know the language or culture, and have not only never visited, but probably couldn’t find it on a map. Can you find South Sudan on the globe? Do you know what’s happening there? Most know it’s in Africa. Not where. Additionally, most know that Myanmar and Vietnam are in South Asia. The Trump administration and DHS Director Kristi Noem have now thoroughly mixed the above by sending poor immigrants from South Asia to South Sudan, not even situated on the same continent! Much as we might wish it was an accident, it is not.

First, let’s check in on exactly what’s being done. From reporting by NBC News, this is important because it appears that the administration is so wanting to send people “elsewhere,” that they’ll ignore court orders in doing so:

Immigration authorities appear to have begun deporting migrants from Myanmar and Vietnam to South Sudan, attorneys for the migrants said in court documents filed Tuesday. Those removals would violate a court order against deporting people to countries other than their homelands without an opportunity to file court challenges, they argued. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

Right. And that’s more outrageous than you might even think because not only is South Sudan about as foreign to the South Asians as you but South Sudan is also not a particularly nice place right now as noted by Joe My God and published by our own damned State Department:

Do not travel to South Sudan due to crime, kidnapping, and armed conflict. Due to the risks in the country, on March 08, 2025, the Department of State ordered the departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees from South Sudan.

So, U.S. citizens are told not to go there, and yet we find a way to dump other nations’ citizens in such a dangerous environment? Do not say that they’re not sending a message by this. There is a war going on there:

Armed conflict is ongoing and includes fighting between various political and ethnic groups. Weapons are readily available to the population. In addition, cattle raids occur throughout the country and often lead to violence.

Violent crime, such as carjackings, shootings, ambushes, assaults, robberies, and kidnappings are common throughout South Sudan, including Juba. Foreign nationals have been the victims of rape, sexual assault, armed robberies, and other violent crimes.

Great. Add to that the fact that the United States has not been mistake-free in sending immigrants back, having deported people who were here legally. Now we risk sending them into one of the world’s most dangerous places.

Yes, the American voter writ large wanted Trump to “fix the border,” but it’s highly doubtful that anyone wanted “cruel and unusual” to make another appearance with respect to Trump administration immigration policy. Similar to the child separation policy from Trump 1.0, these policies scream that the cruelty is the point and always has been. How else does one explain this? It is bad enough that significant risks are taken in deporting possible Vietnamese-Americans by mistake; now they’re going to a war zone in Africa.

How would you do on the ground in “Juba” (Heard of it?). Going to get a job? Could you even call someone? Or would you be immediately drafted into a war or into some highly dangerous profession? You would get robbed first of nearly anything you had. It is not like ICE Barbie Kristi Noem or the United States is going to protect you.

Jesus.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. When this bitch can’t answer the most basic question about OUR LEGAL RIGHTS, and promotes an idea that is opposite of what the Constitution protects…well we’re moving right along to an armed rebellion. Good job puppy killer! Support a despot and reap what comes! Only a matter of time. America…when the phuck are you lazy bastards going to wake up? When the unmarked armed men wisk you or a family member to some hellhole ILLEGALLY? When they do it to one innocent legal citizen, what the hell makes you think you are safe? FOOLS. A nation of fools.
