Y’all. This is one of those “You have GOT to be kidding me” headlines. “House Republicans mull consequences for Dems who ‘stormed’ ICE facility.” They did no such thing! They were conducting a surprise visit to the ICE facility. And the mayor who was arrested? He was OUTSIDE the fence, as ICE requested, when they decided to arrest him! Sure, he made his displeasure known vocally, but he was OUTSIDE the fence when arrested! Good grief. He was *off* ICE property. Rushed the facility. Uhm, no. There are a number of witness accounts that say exactly what they did and what actually happened. Rush is not a word they used, assuming I’m remembering correctly. I hope I am! And I hope I do this justice.

So, according to FUX News, House Republicans are mulling 3 possible different actions. One is nothingness, the other two edge towards the bad. Yea, I’m just as dismayed as I thought I would be when adding FUX to my sources. Blea.

House Republicans are warning that consequences are in store for three Democratic colleagues the Trump administration accused of “storming” a detention facility in defense of illegal immigrants last week.

“Look, there’s three possible disciplinary actions in Congress that the House can take,” Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told reporters at his weekly press conference Wednesday.

He noted the House could censure, a symbolic rebuke with no further repercussions that requires a simple majority vote – a move Johnson said “probably does seem appropriate here.”

Johnson noted the Republican majority could also boot them off their committees, or even expel those lawmakers, though he noted that required a significantly higher threshold.

“Now, expulsion requires a two-thirds vote. That’s not likely with margins that are this small. But, you know, we’re looking at what is appropriate,” he said.

Ugh, that makes me nauseous. But note that if Democrats tried to do this, there would be all sorts of screaming involved. And they *didn’t* “storm” the facility. They walked in with a legitimate reason to do so, and protestors were *outside* the fence, as the mayor did when told. But wait, there’s more!

Meanwhile, other House Republicans who spoke with Fox News Digital called for a range of punishments, from censure to arrests.

“I really think there should be criminal charges filed against them,” Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., told Fox News Digital, arguing there was no realistically sufficient punishment the House could levy.

“A censure doesn’t do anything but raise them money, and no one here has the balls to expel anybody. Only Democrats’ balls are that big.”

Yea, Hobert … er, Boebert always has to add in her $0.02. *snort* Balls that big *snort again* I’m kinda surprised we haven’t heard anything from MTG or Nancy Face … er, Mace. They would love the attention of saying something disgusting publicly.

The Democrats aren’t taking this lying down. And again, imagine if Democrats did this to Republicans! There would be so much screaming going on that we could hear it across the country! I kinda wish someone would point that out.

Both Republicans and Democrats have traded accusations of assault since last Friday, when three Democratic members of Congress joined Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and other protesters to “rush” into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, the Delaney Hall detention center, in northern New Jersey.

Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, LaMonica McIver and Rob Menendez argued they had every right to be there as federal officials on federal grounds and accused ICE agents of “manhandling” lawmakers who joined protesters that day.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accused the Democrats of “storming” the facility after a bus carrying detainees went through its gates and said their actions put both law enforcement and detainees’ safety at risk.

Whaaaaaaat? Safety at risk? Tsk. But Democrats are circling the wagons around the trio. Oh, yes they are!

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., sent a clear warning to Republicans on Tuesday. “That’s a red line,” Jeffries said when asked about possible arrests or sanctions of the lawmakers. “It’s been made loudly and abundantly clear to the Trump administration, we’re not going to be intimidated by their tactics.”

Rep. John McGuire, R-Va., said he was in favor of punishing those Democrats. “We should be better than that,” he said, without elaborating on what retribution was reasonable.

Better than that? Okay then, what is “that” supposed to be?? That’s a great NON-answer. This whole thing has been massively blown out of proportion. You might want to go read this article here because grrrrr. And might I mention that the Republicans seem to have conveniently forgotten they’ll need Democrats to pass that disgusting “big, beautiful bill”? (Or have I forgotten they *don’t* need them?)

But to close, there are any number of things to spend their time on than accusing Democrats. They seem to have forgotten that, too. The words used in their article are not completely true. They’re deliberately meant to rouse up the support of the MAGA masses and misdirect what actually needs to be done. This is not creative. This is ridiculous. (So is the arrest of the Wisconsin judge.) This also PISSES ME OFF.  Can we move on, please? (I know this ran long again.) Thanks for sticking with me!

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula
