There is one tried and true axiom in Trump world and that is that no matter how bad an appointee or nominee is, the next one will be even worse. You may depend upon that like you depend upon sunshine in California. It’s a law of nature in Trump world. Ed Martin was Donald Trump’s nominee to be the U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia and Thom Tillis shut down that appointment. So it’s back to the drawing board and so of course Trump goes to where he goes for government people and that is to Central Casting, or Fox News, as it is known to the rest of us. Hand to God, if this keeps up, pretty soon Fox News will have an empty set. Maybe they’ll have to ask Tucker Carlson to come back to work. Or maybe Carlson will be in the government.

“Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position,” having a high rated TV show? That’s how Trump *thinks.* And I guarantee you that there is collective retching going on in New York State amongst district attorneys, as they read that Pirro is one of the “Top” D.A.s in the history of New York. Oh, puh-leeze, Donald. You’ve been listening to your own bullshit for so long that you have come to believe it, but the rest of the world has read the definition of gaslighting and we know what’s going on.

I wonder if Judge Jeanine will have her own makeup studio, like Pete Hegseth. Ya spose? And definitely the two of them should go out pub crawling. One thing I can share with you, this Great Legal Mind was wrong a few days ago about due process.

So the question now becomes, does Pirro KNOW she’s wrong about this and just selling the rubes a bill of goods or does she really not know about due process? And on so many levels it doesn’t matter. If she is crooked enough to know about due process but wants to sell a Trumpian version of it to MAGA, that’s a strike against her. If she is so incompetent that she doesn’t know how due process works, then that’s a strike against her. So what we’re asking here is which is worse, incompetence or dishonesty? They are both deadly in a lawyer and Pirro has one or the other — or both.

But this is what Trump is fobbing off as the interim U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia. Thank God if you don’t have any issues that could possibly go before that office while Pirro is running it.

And it still leaves us with the main problem, which is who is going to be Trump’s next nominee, and since the rule of thumb is that it has to be someone worse, then who does that leave? The pickins are beyond slim at this point.

  1. “So what we’re asking here is which is worse, incompetence or dishonesty?”

With Trump and his minions, you never have to make the choice, you ALWAYS get both.

  2. Damn. You beat me to the punch. I screwed up dinner and when I sat back down after tossing something in the oven saw this story. You were likely already at work on this and finished while I was looking through memes for a title pic. Oh well.

Martin was bad, but Pirro is worse which you pointed out. Tillis probably isn’t the only Senator ordering an old-timey straight razor to slash his throat with!

As for the makeup studio I’m sure she will have a special room of her own installed at her new digs. A refrigerated one, filled with wine. BOXES of wine! If you think District Attorneys up in NY state are appalled, just imagine how the assistant U.S. Attorney’s in DC are feeling.

Dare we hope she’s arrogant enough to appear in court in DC to show her minions “how it’s done” and gets her drunk ass handed to her by a federal judge? That prospect is the only worthwhile thing I can see coming out of this.

  3. The first words out of my mouth when I learned of this were, ‘Holy Shit!’ No lie. But his choices are sort of predictable; all one needs to do is make a short list of 5 to 10 of the least suitable people for the job, and chances are he’s going to give one of them the nod.

  4. I feel sympathy for you inexperienced sheltered folks. Having spent my childhood dealing with a violent drunk, I’m used to craziness. Now that delusional drunks are the decision makers, I feel well trained for upcoming disasters…and THEY WILL COME. The rest of you are on your own.

  5. No, she’s NOT “being appointed,” she os beng nominated, for the job, which requires Senate confirmation.

    Oh, those pesky WORDZ.
