I was surprised yesterday, but thought it was nothing much. Well, today I did some more research and found more surprises because the news was carried on multiple websites. It did happen! I’m not quite sure what to think of this. It was unusual for this person to do, considering this person is MAGA and a defender of tRump. Are you ready for this? I hope you are!

One far-right MAGA Republican who is expressing displeasure with Trump’s more imperialistic ideas is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia). She took to X on Friday afternoon to share a lengthy rant in which she lambasted the “rogue justice system” and wrote about occupying Ukraine. Greene argued that some of Trump’s recent actions are incompatible with the MAGA movement’s “America First” ideology.

Well, damn, Marjorie. Don’t hold back now. Tell us how you *really* feel. Now you know why I was stunned. Of all the people who are in the man WHO PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE circle of conspiracy theorists (remember Jewish space lasers?), she is just about the last person I would think would come out and smack Traitor Tot around. It’s rather unusual, is it not? But wait, there’s more!

“I represent the base, and when I’m frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy,” Greene tweeted. “I campaigned for no more foreign wars. And now we are supposedly on the verge of going to war with Iran. I don’t think we should be bombing foreign countries on behalf of other foreign countries, especially when they have their own nuclear weapons and massive military strength.”

WHAM! There ya go. I still have more to share, too. She’s really fired up about the US staying out of wars. And in this case, I happen to agree. With all the problems we are having now – economy, inflation, tariffs, just to name a few- we really don’t need a war on top of it all. Agent Orange thinks he’s a master negotiator. He ought to be involved in this, and soon!

“And on top of that, now we are told that we have signed a deal for mineral rights in Ukraine, in order to pay us back for the hundreds of billions of dollars that we gave Ukraine and they used for money laundering, sold the weapons we gave them to our enemies, and their leader is a dictator who canceled elections, was involved of the first impeachment of Trump, and campaigned for (President Joe) Biden.”

Gee, she really seems upset, ya think??!?? Now, she’s completely wrong about Ukraine. No matter what she says, it’s 99% *not true*. She says things because she can. Whether or not she actually *believes* this stuff is a whole different question. Her theories are so wildly off base and untrue that I do occasionally think she’s making things up to get attention. She’s damn near as bad as El Presidente Imbécil in seeking out attention.

I hope you had fun reading this. I had a lot of fun researching it. I thought MTG was off the rails on Xitter and very few people would pay attention. Well, multiple websites, each with a little difference in their articles, told me it’s true. I’m so entertained! Thanks for sticking with me!

*****And now, please be so kind as to read a very special request from our awesome boss******

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough April, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. Nuance is something GOPer have trouble with. Most don’t even try. Regarding all the aid to Ukraine we didn’t send of hundreds of billions to them to use however they felt they needed. Yes, some of it was to provide humanitarian relief, food, medicine and other assistance in both rebuiling destroyed places AND starting to build out their own weapons manufacturing capability. However the bulk of that money was spent HERE in the United States. We sent weapons and munitions and then turned around and contracted with U.S. makers of those weapons and munitions to replenish our own stockpiles. Most of the money was spent here in the U.S. to U.S. firms and therefore a shitload to U.S. workers.

That nuance is more than most MAGAs can grasp but there’s more. One thing about economics and Keynesian theory is the so-called multiplier effect. Government spending that produces jobs and pays workers gets circulated in communities where those workers are. Suppliers of materials get some of it too. But that money paid to those who do the work gets used in communities to support OTHER businesses which in turn create jobs! THAT grows local and even state economies and provides more tax revenue thereby offsetting the original expenditure. It’s an INVESTMENT, but again dumbass MAGAs don’t seem to have the ability to grasp that. Even though they are so often the ones getting those paychecks funded by that government spending. Look at where factories that produce weapons systems and munitions actually are. An awful lot of them are in RED states or red parts of blue states!

The literal bottom line is that the cost of the aid we’ve provided Ukraine isn’t anywhere near the top line figure people see in the news.

    • Right. All I will add is the reason why they don’t get this. Their minds work in very simple, rigid patterns. Everything to them is a zero-sum game, like team sports. If I win, you lose. If you win, I lose.

    • I *do* realize that. You explained it very well, better than I did or could. Nuance. Yea, they don’t even slightly understand that and don’t bother to try. Thank you for taking the time to show us this!

  2. MTG is pretty much in line with people like Steve Bannon. Not all Trump supporters are. So the factions of MAGA will just have to duke it out among themselves, just as they duke it out with the rest of us. Meanwhile, I’m going to pop me up some popcorn.

  3. My personal favorite comment was about Ukraine supposedly selling the weapons we gave them to our enemies. If they did that, the war would be over and they would be part of Russia.
Her first statement had me thinking she is actually starting to make sense. Then, she says this.
