Melania Trump is in a new phase in her life. At the beginning of Trump 1.0, she decided she was going to be the next Jackie Kennedy. Since Jackie was fluent in three foreign languages for real and spoke them with leaders abroad, while Melania only lies about being fluent in five (or was it six?) languages, the Jackie reboot fizzled on the launch pad.
But now it is Trump 2.0 and Melania has a new game. She’s going to be a Serious Stateswoman. We have seen this in her choice of garb. At the Inauguration she wore a suit and a hat that hid her face. (Will no one tell this woman that hats come in different sizes?) And then she appeared in a three-piece business suit to have a press conference. Yesterday she was in leopard print at the 19th International Women Of Courage Awards Ceremony. I think I know what that’s about: Melania thinks big cats are courageous and so if she dresses like one, she’ll project the courage of one. Dress the part, that sort of thing?
Or, maybe this is another I Really Don’t Care Do U? moment and rather than dress simply and respectfully, she cannot restrain herself from wearing something eye catching. That is Melania’s terror, that somehow she will blend into the crowd or the woodwork and all eyes won’t be on her. She always has to have the most eye catching outfit in the room. Anyhow, here is what the New Melania sounds like. (And no I don’t know who her speechwriter is, but s/he should be shot at dawn.)

Another Trump with a vocabulary of 200. Let’s hope that Barron reads a book occasionally and learns basic words and how to pronounce them.
But the heck with the accent or the pronunciation. It’s the wild-eyed fake intensity that gets me. Some First Ladies have been orators in their own right. Eleanor Roosevelt certainly was one. Michelle Obama is a tremendous orator as well.
But Eleanor Roosevelt was never a beautiful woman. That was not the card she was playing. Intelligence, graciousness, empathy, and a capacious understanding of the issues of the day were what that First Lady had to bring to the office.
Melania makes it clear that she has no clue what she’s reading, but in her effort to Appear Serious merely looks wild eyed and odd. If you want to torture yourself with more of this, here’s the entire video. Melania starts at 14:57.
This is part of the madness of the political situation in this country. Melania’s husband (at least on paper) is insanely miscast as a leader. He’s a game show host and a con man. Melania met him when she was 26 and the modeling world wasn’t exactly beating down her door. She had a good reason for taking the easy way out and married Trump’s money. In all fairness, she never signed up for this and she’s wildly out of her depth, as insanely miscast as her husband.
And that would be acceptable but for the arrogance. Melania’s as arrogant as hubby. She bought into the birther conspiracy, She put on the pea coat with the horrific I Really Don’t Care Do U? words, when she was flying down to see children in cages. Where oh where was love that day?
And all the lies about the college degree she doesn’t have and the languages she doesn’t speak. And finally, you know that she didn’t show up and read for ten minutes yesterday for fun and for free. How much she got paid, I have no idea. I know she used to soak the Log Cabin Republicans for a quarter million dollars for a ten-minute speech. Maybe that was the fee here as well.
Someday we will be rid of these people. The best case scenario is that Trump loses both chambers of Congress in 2026 and is stonewalled. Let us rise every day with the purpose of making that happen.

Nothing about her facial expression or demeanor shows any love that I can see. Then again, neither has her hubby. She really has no clue about the meaning of the words she is saying. She is merely reading a script, badly.
Just for complete clarity, I didn’t mean a script as one an actor would use. I meant like an overseas telemarketer.
Her scriptwriter should be shot. The key to good scriptwriting is writing material that fits the speaker. This Vast Philosophical Dirge from Melania is sleep inducing.
I am so humiliated on behalf of the actual women of courage who were honored at this event! They are strong women who fight FOR people, animals, and the environment while fighting AGAINST tremendous hatred and corruption! Yet, here they are having to listen to two of the enablers/purveyors of this planet’s worst hatred and corruption…Melania and Marco!! These two are helping every day to directly murder people, animals and the environment around the world but are shameless enough to act as though they have the right to share the same air as these tremendous women!! 🤢🤮🤬💩

There’s always something to be said about how this family behaves and interacts with the world. As for this woman, nothing she has done in her life stands out to me quite like her obtaining an Einstein Visa. By itself, I don’t care. But what was her extraordinary ability, being able to tolerate her husband without vomiting? Then there’s that part where she’s married to a man who’s vehemently anti-immigration. But then, even in that, he reveals his blatant racism.
